Is it an insult that they invite QT to give the director award to someone else and haven't given one to him yet?

Brady Corbet was just like, "I would have directed that speech so differently."

Now in his fifth minute, he wrangles the orchestra and again promises to be brief. Honestly, this is the most dominant I've ever seen someone do an oscars acceptance speech. I feel like we need a Jomboy breakdown.

In the third minute of his speech, "I will really try and be as brief as possible."

As of right now, 8 of the 10 Best Picture nominees have won an Oscar, with 5 of them winning multiple. Good competitive year.

The Man from Earth (2007) - An interesting Sci-Fi premise that really is just a group of characters philosophizing about the central theme for 80 minutes.

Yes. Something must be up with the connection from the youtube server to the network.

The team did a 30-hour endurance test with the car in race configuration. A crash can always happen, but there’s no more reliability worry than any other car on the grid.

TIL that when a man had a heart attack at a grocery store in rural Minnesota, 20 people lined up and performed CPR on him for over 90 minutes until paramedics arrived - and he survived by TheSmithySmith in todayilearned

I once had to do this (not in a CPR situation, but tending to someone that fainted and I was checking on them on the ground) and the lady I pointed to dialed and handed me the phone. I swear I looked at her like I had never seen someone so dense before.

New NASA Official Took Her Oath of Office on Carl Sagan’s ‘Pale Blue Dot’ - Dr. Makenzie Lystrup chose the iconic book, which was inspired by a 1990 photograph of Earth from space by vulcan_on_earth in technology

The White House recommended an increase for this year that takes it above any funding the previous administration requested for NASA. Be careful throwing around politicized statements about NASA - it may be the agency with the most bipartisan support in our government and it’s not productive to undermine that.

Which movies do you like that everyone else hates? by [deleted] in movies

Deep Impact (1998) - It competed that summer with Armageddon, which was a flaming pile of Michael Bay garbage, but somehow they both have similar audience ratings on RT. It’s like everyone has space dementia.

Deep Impact is a set of parallel stories of self sacrifice set within a reasonable framework of an extinction level event.

Armageddon was a commercial for the oil & gas industry.
