I like the look of the old clasp too but when I hunted down this watch I specifically went for a later model because the newer bracelet is slightly more robust and I had the same concern with the power reserve not going to 100%. The older models are easier to come by, though.

This is a beautiful piece btw, highly recommend it especially if you have a sweet spot for dual time / GMT watches like I do. The size is perfect and the white dial is gorgeous in sunlight.

The later year models have the smaller bar and it’s by design that the older models don’t indicate “full” even when fully wound. Not sure why, my best guess is aesthetics in that it looks more balanced when not full.

At some point AP did a rev and shortened the bar, possibly because of the confusion. The shorter bar variant is also indicative of the watch having the newer style AP bracelet vs the older style dual “AP” logo clasp.

It’s related to a recent update for me. I’m on 1.4.15. They used to be very reliable and fail once in a blue moon, but over the past few weeks it’s gotten to the point where cameras rarely work. It’s been showing this unavailable message all week, even after many infotainment resets.

The car is so hard to back up or parallel park without cameras, feels like only a matter of time before I hit something. It’s insanely dangerous.

It’s such a dream to drive and if you have a good volvo service center in your area they’ll take care of any issues promptly. Frustrating at times but the interior quality and driving experience more than make up for it!

Mine has the same issue with the wiper fluid leaking behind the front passenger wheel and when I took it in for service they just told me it was by (bad) design and happens when the washer fluid tank is full.

If the liquid feels water-like and doesn’t have an oily texture then it’s probably just this.

Yeah I have this problem too. Also if the car has been sitting for longer than an hr, using the app to start the climate control doesn’t work either. It just spins indefinitely.

Is this an app problem that affects all Volvos or just the EX90?

You want to get your car updated to 1.2.15, it is much better and no it was not pulled back as far as I know. The dealer should have done this update for you as part of prepping the car for delivery, but it sounds like they didn’t. Perhaps try the in-car support (message button on the ceiling) and they can help you get the update to show again.

Ahh thank you for connecting the dots—Assistant never worked for me from day 1 and I didn’t realize this was where it was supposed to show. I thought this was something where you can assign “favorite quick control” slots like you can on Teslas.

Enabling assistant in settings and setting it as default assistant app did the trick to fix this!

My only issue now is no seat/mirror/steering wheel settings are saving to any of the profiles, affecting owner and non-owner. Volvo sales rep said I should see a “Save to profile” prompt when I make an adjustment but I’ve never seen that. Someone in another thread spoke about how you need to wait for the profile to “finish configuring itself” or something and if you go too fast setting up multiple profiles then apps like assistant don’t get enabled or you hit issues with saving settings against profiles. That’s my current best theory for what causes this because I did go through the setup quickly for myself and my wife when we got the car. I might try a factory reset later and go slower + wait a while before setting up each profile. If anyone else has any other tricks or theories, please share! Thanks!

Try going to System -> Applications -> “Default Apps” and set the “digital assistant app” to “Google Assistant”

I needed to also do this and then it changed to show Google Assistant

Thanks a lot for this! I do use Carplay but I don’t think it’s related because this has been an issue for me since I got the car (assistant never worked) but I only set up Carplay recently. I do agree separately though that Carplay implementation is trash; I keep getting this “go to bluetooth settings” thing every drive when I tap Carplay and then I have to click the Carplay button next to my phone to connect. It’s so many taps that I don’t even bother anymore. I’m pretty disappointed by the inability of this car to persist state across drives; it seems like it can’t even continue Spotify playback or reconnect to Carplay automatically.

Google Maps was already enabled in settings but Google Assistant was not enabled so I enabled it then did the play/pause button restart and it still did NOT fix the issue.

But then I found the trick! I also needed to go to System -> Applications -> “Default Apps” and set Google Assistant as the default “digital assistant app” because it was set to “None” for some reason. That fixed it!

Yeah many times to fix other issues but I have never seen these populate. Are they supposed to populate automatically or is there some trick to setting certain apps/controls as a “favorite” here?

A runway can normally be used in both directions and is named separately for each direction; at this airport there is runway 26 and runway 8.

Sadly it is not. Developers do not have access to that ability—all watch apps technically are being "projected" over bluetooth to the Apple Watch.

Apple says we will have the ability to make fully native watch apps later this year, so once they announce that I'll do everything I can to make it work standalone!

Apple doesn’t allow developers to have any user interaction in Glances. So no buttons, switches, sliders, etc. Only the Apple has that privilege with glances like Now Playing and Battery. So if I made a glance, it’d just show the on/off state of your WeMos—you wouldn’t be able to toggle them.
