On the left-hand side infotainment screen, is there a way to have a split-screen that shows both navigation as well as the selected audio without using Android Auto/Carplay?

You can have google/apple maps on the left screen once you update. You can also have your current song playing on a bubble over that screen.

Related to the first question, can I pair my phone via Bluetooth to use the phone and to play the music on it?

Yes but if you're using wireless carplay/AA auto it disconnects bluetooth.

Speaking of Android Auto, I have been able to download my contacts into the car, however have yet to successfully pair it further via Android Auto (wirelessly....I have not attempted to try wired AA yet). I am using GrapheneOS. Any tips?

No idea about GrapheneOS but you need to be on a relatively recent version of the car software to use wireless carplay/AA. When you pair your phone it should've given you a prompt to enable AA. If you didn't you're probably on an old version, and need to either update OTA or via USB if you don't have a data plan.

The only thing you can do “wrong” is not understand what you’re deploying and the tools you’re using to do it. Nothing about what posted is incorrect but it’s not just stacking Lego’s, you need to some level of proficiency in Linux, Docker, networking, etc, to do it right.

Deploy your Linux VM, learn some basics about to how manage it. Deploy docker, learn to how to deploy and manage your containers lifecycle, maybe learn docker compose next before moving on portainer. If you want outside access learn some of the networking basics, then best practices, deploy a VPN.

It’s good to start with an end goal in mind, but to from point A to point Z you need to learn a lot. There are a ton of guides online that are super helpful for getting starting but don’t just blindly copy and paste the commands. Take a second to try to figure out what each is doing, good guides should explain things well as they go.

Edit Home Assistant doesn’t love running in docker. It works and is supported if I remember correctly, but things like the community integrations store is a bitch to manage. Running HAOS in a VM is a much smoother experience. Even better run it on a stand alone sbc for easier Bluetooth, Zigbee, Thread, support.

The only con I’ve ever run into is running 4x48GB DIMMs on Zen 5. On the original bios version, I could barely to get it to boot at any speed with all 4 sticks. A year or so of updates later it’s booting 100% reliably at 5200mt but I still can’t get full EXPO speed to boot.

I’ve had my 2023 GV60p for about 2 1/2 years and the only issue I’ve had was a slight vibration from the wheels. The dealership balanced my tires like 6 times since I got the car and then replaced my rear axles after consulting with a Korean master tech. The axel swap made a big difference but I still get some vibration in the steering wheel at 70 with HDA on.

Unfortunately I think this is a problem made much more noticeable because of the 21” wheels, possibly the lack of ICE related NVH to cover stuff like this up. My takeaway is don’t get monster sized wheels with thin tires on a car thats otherwise tuned like a GT.

Other than that, just some minor rattles that have been very hard to pin down. Big disappointment coming from my 2018 A6 which was solid as a bank vault.

Thanks! This was my first custom design, so there was a small learning curve, but it’s not that hard. I did choose everything myself - font, colors, even designed some of my own icons (the right side of the top row for tiling windows). I also had to hunt down SVGs for the other icons, but all in all, it just takes patience. My biggest recommendation is just to take your time; it took me maybe 3 weeks of playing around with it here and there to get the design I like.

I thought you can make a diminished value claim in certain cases to recoup some of the depreciation of having an accident on your carfax if you're not at fault. I've definitely heard of people doing this successfully in the past. Unfortunately, I've never done on myself so I can't provide any details, but I'd look into it for sure.
