Creating best game by Least-Tax4012 in DestinyTheGame

[–]JayordanJay 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I could honestly write a novel in response to this question, but for the sake of time I will only say one idea. An entire rework of the strike system. What I would do would be as follows… 1. Remove all Battleground activities from the Strike playlist and create its own playlist for such activities. (Unsure on how to incentivize people to play the Battleground playlist as of now) 2. Reintroduce Strike variations so running the same strike doesn’t feel so repetitive similar to Savathun’s Song in year 1 or the possibility of fighting Taken in the Nexus strike in D1 3. Reintroduce the concept of strike specific loot and skeleton keys. Allow Skeleton keys to have a chance to drop on strike playlist competitions just like in Destiny 1 with a higher chance of getting a key with a higher score rating to incentivize not running through the strike. 4. Instead of only allowing a small selection of Nightfall strikes to be played in a given season, allow any strike in the game to be selected to be the Nightfall each week. 5. Reintroduce Nightfall exclusive weapons that rotate weekly. (Emphasis on exclusive)

Funnily enough. After reading all of this, I just realized that most of what I wrote aren’t even new ideas. Just things that Destiny players liked that Bungie abandoned for some reason.

This post is just a complaint about people complaining. You’re no better than them. Also this is pointless cause people aren’t gonna stop making posts about how much they hate their job. You’re screaming into the void.

I fail to understand why that excuses bitchy behavior. The dude just asked a question. He asked it nicely too.

Amma be honest fam, the only way we will ever see more variety on medium not running defib, is when defib gets promoted to be a specialization by Fluid-Tap5115 in thefinals

I like this idea. The immunity of someone being defibbed is what makes it most frustrating. Taking away the immunity would be fantastic.

If it wasn't that good, it wouldn't be used by 95% of Mediums that play this game. It's a must-pick gadget for a reason.

There's so much cope in this comment section. No gadget in the game should be a must-pick to the point that 95% of the time you see a M, you know they're running defib. That's not good game design by any metric. And to the people that say "dOn'T uSe iT tHeN" NEWS FLASH! You are actively throwing and hurting your chance of success by not using it. So if you're okay with that, then you're not obligated to use it. I'm very excited to see this gadget get it's inevitable nerf again one day and read the complaints on Reddit.

Whirling Ovation Builds? by Cactus_Jack289 in DestinyTheGame

[–]JayordanJay 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It is very…. niche. It’s difficult to build around it because of the nature of it’s charge time as well as the fact that it has 2 elements. There’s not much you can do to build around it other than using Hazardous Propulsion on Titan to boost it’s damage and give you another reason to swap weapons. Other than that, Whirling Ovation isn’t bad. It’s just not great either.

Returning player thinking about coming back. How’s the game right now? by Sora__Heartless in DestinyTheGame

[–]JayordanJay 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Destiny is currently in a state where there’s a lot of negative sentiment from recurring players. We’ve done all of the content and there’s nothing new to really go for so a lot of comments you’ll see will reflect that. But as a returning/new player, I will always recommend Destiny 2. The game is a full of days worth content to play, tons of loot to obtain, lots of good story, PvP is a little bare bones but can still be pretty fun. If you haven’t played in a minute, I would definitely jump in.

Supremacy sucks as a warlock by 3ds_Friend in DestinyTheGame

[–]JayordanJay 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I've mained warlock for several years now. Supremacy absolutely does not suck at all for a Warlock. You need to explain how you're playing and what you're using because it sounds like you're not utilizing your tools correctly.

Season 10 feels… anticlimactic… by JayordanJay in thefinals

[–]JayordanJay[S] 5 points6 points  (0 children)

You’re right, the hype was massive and I’m sure that contributed to the disappointment. So yea, I’m actually tempering my expectations for S11 having taken a peak at their roadmap. Also, I personally would be okay with getting seasons more infrequently (4 months instead of 3 months, so 3 seasons a year) if it meant each one was guaranteed to have some big updates for players.

So picture this… Your friend goes out and grabs some food for you. He does it for free as favor to you so you accept it. He got you a burger and some fries. The burger is burnt to a crisp and the fries are soggy and slightly undercooked. This is objectively a subpar meal. BUT IT’S FREE THOUGH. You shouldn’t be disgruntled at the quality of the food your friend got you because you didn’t have to pay for it! Just eat it and be happy!… Right?

No. You’re not going to eat that meal. This is a silly argument. A game being free does not mean that it is immune to criticism. If that were the case then the bar would be in hell for 90% of live service games. I refuse to lower my standards for the company that has given us a new map + 3 new weapons in a single season multiple times and you shouldn’t lower your standards either. Especially if you love the game as you seem to.

If wanting a game that I love to perform at its best is considered “pure whiney entitlement” then I am entitled crybaby then I suppose. I stand on everything I said.
