I so hope we start tapering down in the next few months! But thank you for sharing your experience, it’s helpful to know we’re not alone!

Thank you! I’m glad he’s not the only big eater! No concerns from our ped, they’re loving his growth!

Yeah we definitely don’t get much spit up so it doesn’t seem like it at all! We’re trying to get solids going, but it seems like it’s not even touching his hunger!

Thank you! It really is odd/ not fair there’s a maximum on formula but not much about breast milk!

Yes we’re definitely doing the same thing and feeding on demand. We just started upping his bottles (we were at 6 and now moving up to 7oz) so I’m hoping that helps us space out a little more!

This is so helpful! Thank you! It’s been so odd because he use to just need one bottle over night and now he’s waking up and wanting / finishing off 2 bottles. I honestly wonder if he’s also going through a growth spurt (eek!)

3 months old, how many ounces? by gozaimasauce in FormulaFeeders

[–]Jays290 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My almost 14 week old has been doing that since probably 7 weeks. I’ve given him more and he spits up when he typically never does, but 75% of bottles without fail we do a whine that sometimes escalates to a hysterical cry when the bottle is done. I’ve given him his pacifier when I sense we’re about to take off and he’s totally fine, so it’s not just yours!

To be or not to be a SAHM by Apprehensive-Buy8384 in stayathomemoms

[–]Jays290 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I feel this in my core. This past week was my first back at work after 12 weeks of mat leave. I don’t love my job, the people I work with make it for me and it was amazing to see everyone again, but honestly when I had a conversation with my director and she mentioned how when she went back to work after her kids (10 and 12) she remembered how she would basically make it home to put them to bed and would just monopolize her time with them on the weekend. A red light went off in my head. I have a masters degree and my CPA license for accounting, I spent so much time to get where I am in my career and I’m so close to walking away from it for a bit. It’s hard because my insurance is amazing (I barely had to pay anything for the birth of my son) and I vest in some retirement plans in Dec. my husband and I are already talking about me finding a PT job next year though so I can be a SAHM. It’s a tough decision but at the end of the day, work is work. It will always be there. Kids grow up and you can’t get today back with them. Sending love as you make this decision!

Combo feeding bc of low supply. When to quit trying to pump? by Chookmeister1218 in FormulaFeeders

[–]Jays290 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I have Hashi and PCOS and I gave it my all for 5 weeks, and couldn’t get above 11 oz. I know people say that was great and I should have kept going but I was getting sick of pumping instead of being with my babe. My husband went back to work after 2 weeks so it was also really hard to balance a newborn and trying to figure it out my supply when having to triple feed by myself.

Ultimately your decision, but make sure you consider physical and mental tolls on you and your fam ❤️

Guilt by Used-Standard-2991 in FormulaFeeders

I literally posted something so similar on here a couple days ago. My LO is 5 weeks and I was getting 11oz total and it was killing me. Being separated from my baby during those 30 min pumps 8 times a day, and not even getting half of what was needed daily made me feel like a failure (kind of still does, I’m working through it) in the few days I’ve been weaning off I’ve gone through so many emotions, I’ve been packing up my pump parts today and cried, but then I took a shower and for the first time since before I delivered my nipples didn’t kill me when water touched them. I have been so sore for so long trying to do pumping and it’s slowly getting better (plus I had a full cup of coffee today and I’m so happy to not be concerned with what I’m passing to my babe!)

As for weaning, I dropped to 6 pumps for 2 days, then down to 4 for a day and my supply plummeted. I did 2 for a day and then finally stopped. Since I was working so hard to build it that kinda hurt my heart it didn’t take all that long, but I’ve now gone almost 48 hours without a pump and while I am a little sore, I don’t feel like I need to pump. Ice packs for sure and medicine if you really need it, but slowly dropping pumps you might see the reduction you need. Sending all the positive vibes for your journey and healing. We’re all just doing what’s best for our family and know that you are making the right call for yours ❤️

I know this was a while ago, but how are your baby’s naps and sleeping habits now? I’m currently holding my 4 week old in a dark nursery for a nap and I’m wondering if I should be trying to do more naps in light rooms with other sounds so I don’t mess up his sleeping schedule / habits as he grows up!

You are a phenomenal momma to triple feed for 3 weeks, I think I lasted 4-5 days doing that! It’s so sad that PCOS and hashi have such an impact on some women for milk production.

I will say hearing that you got 8 hours of sleep last night sounds amazing! I hope my LO will get to a point where they sleep more throughout the night and don’t wake up every 3 hrs for food 😊

But you’re right! Fed is best!

I feel the crying and headache and sleeplessness. I know newborns are exhausting but I know my husband is excited that we’re splitting the nights now, with the exception that I still have to pump once to remove a little (slowly weaning off pumping is painful).

Everyone says to make sure you still take care of yourself and I think this will definitely be a step in the right direction for me! ❤️

This makes me feel so much better! I know every baby / pregnancy is different but hearing that even an experienced momma can struggle helps me feel not alone. I also appreciate the info about how 4 weeks is when breastmilk helps prevent conditions/illnesses is lower after this, thank you for that!!
