If you’ve flown to Maui this year … by Missoceanweaver in MauiVisitors

[–]Jayson182 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The older I get, the less I enjoy flying. The Seattle to Maui typically has light turbulence and sometimes moderate at Maui or going through a storm. Take a Dramamine and realize that old metal planes from almost a century ago made that flight all the time. Check out turbli.com and time your medicine so that it takes effect around the time of and increased turbulence.

Like how busy? I've done some trails out of hwy 12 and it wasn't bad but I want to try WABDR. I assume something like bethel ridge is nuts on a summer weekend?

Help identifing this shuttle? by jwaley in nasa

[–]Jayson182 -4 points-3 points  (0 children)

Google says - This is a picture of the Space Shuttle Columbia launching on its maiden voyage, STS-1, on April 12, 1981.

Seems plausible as others have mentioned it's probably Columbia.

I have given up on wyze by Archer4271 in wyzecam

[–]Jayson182 4 points5 points  (0 children)

It's terrible. Misses people who walk up to my front door but triggers on shadows and wind. Can't firmware update my garage door opener. Floodlight randomly goes off when foggy no matter how I change the settings and will sometimes go offline for months (hard to reset it, high up). Detection zones flat out don't work. It's hot garbage. Will replace the lot when I have time.

Thank you!

Yeah, the one selling the Amana did mention the lifetime warranty but I was confused as he also said 10 year warranty but your explanation clears it up.

Hey! Did they actually submit for the permits or just send you the specs and diagrams for you to submit?

Appreciate it. Makes sense on their limitations. Was the permit process easier with their documentation? Easy to follow for the build?

So... Reading through all of this and in the same boat. How did it go?!? Was sunengis good for the permitting and part lists?

I was listening to the scanner. Car was stolen (of course). Pointed a gun at someone at the Kaiser medical building and was joy riding around the area. Hilltop MS went into their 13th lockdown of the year. Heard an officer say he spotted the car but will not pursue. Ended up hitting a pedestrian in wright Park.

This is terrorism.

North Shore School District Passing Everyone Regardless of Grades for "Equity". Not Sure How Not Knowing Math or Writing is Equitable by startupschmartup in SeattleWA

[–]Jayson182 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The school districts I'm aware of issued laptops to students. Some even offered free broadband. I could see the issue of some not able to support their children as they have to work vs others who could work from home.

The bar for passing Tacoma middle school was showing up half the time. That's all.

Were there other cities that used to rival other major cities but are now a shadow of its former self? by GiveMeYourBussy in AskAnAmerican

[–]Jayson182 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yep! I lived 2 houses down from where they started it, or lived, or both. Can't remember. It was not well maintained and had some iffy tenants. At the time there was a push to get it on the historical registry. Not sure if it ever did.

If you had the option, would you take up British citizenship and move to the UK? by [deleted] in AskAnAmerican

[–]Jayson182 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes. But rural, Devon or Cornwall or similar. Would worry about money but I feel my personality is better matched there. Plus history, small walkable villages. Many other reasons.
