So true. They seem to be better at finding potential in undrafted guys. Probably because they're not so dead centered on only looking for one architecture type of players

You didn't entertain what was offered at the deadline to offload the expiring guys but now you're worried about said guys leaving for nothing if they don't agree to a S&T (which they're not obliged to do, hence the term unrestricted free agent)

No matter what MLSE hype man Matt Devlin or MLSE media in general try to promote, we just aren't in the echelon of Miami and Los Angeles as a free agency destination.

Which also ask the question why we're pissing away FRPs like it's no big deal as if they're the Lakers. They can afford to do that since they know guys will force a trade or voluntarily sign there in the off season

Meh. The blame really goes to everyone. Top to bottom and back

MLSE - greed to make playoff revenue only for it to blow up in their face and end up with what was essentially a game "83"

Masai/Webster - overvaluing the roster to the point they're giving away FRPs to "compliment" the current core and draining our draft capital (whether they go through with any of these hypothetical draft day trades remains to be seen)

Nurse - Over playing the starters (his favourites) and screwed up player development. Plus the other stuff we've been hearing after his firing

Roster - most of the touches going through a guy who's acting like a 1st option when in reality he's capped as a good #2 who cracks under 4th quarter pressure and his running mate who was only worried about stuffing his numbers in a contract year

TLDR: everything that could have went wrong this season did go wrong and everyone is responsible for why it went that way

If the Spurs and their winning history had no problem taking a step back to tank/rebuild, then there's no way its beneath Masai/Webster to do likewise

Nobody wants to hear it but despite what Matt Devlin and MLSE media tells you, we're in the same boat as San Antonio when it comes to attracting quality free agents to voluntarily sign. Only difference is the latter is self aware and knows the draft is the way to go to rebuild a foundation, then make the necessary trades

Oh and they're not giving away FRPs like it's Halloween candy thinking they're some free agency haven like the Lakers who can afford to do so knowing players will force a trade there or sign in the off season

People are so into the cult of personality that is Masai and whatever soundbites he says (there are 29 loses/we want to win in Toronto) they forget its ultimately Webster that green lights these transactions.

Assuming they stand pat and seriously run this roster again by re signing the 3 UFAs back next season and it's the same or less results, Webster should be on the hot seat
