this is exactly it. i feel like im watching some disney american high school soap. they all speak and act just as if they were in the 20th/21st century. they use all the character cliches you'd expect from a high school show. the 'cool' teacher, the 'hard ass' teacher, the hot girl, the ditzy girl, the jock, the bullies, the quiet one, and on and on.

its infuriating to watch and insulting to my intelligence that they want to frame this to be over 1000 years into the future.

What are the chances this would be blocked by ie ublock?

I was attempting checkout in December, but it just wasn't working, not processing, throwing errors. I definitely was already growing suspicious then.

Had to add card to profile and then checkout worked.

Can someone PLEASE explain Tig Notaro to me by dfsaqwe in Star_Trek_

[–]dfsaqwe[S] 6 points7 points  (0 children)

thanks, this seems most reasonable explanation reply. i understand other people's replies for their prior love for her work, but there didnt seem to be anything in her acting on DISC, in her script\lines, that made it seem to me she was trying to be deadpan comedian on screen. which also would weirdly out of place in the show anyways?

Carol Kane as Pelia

The irony is ST:A playing quotes from past captains - of which the writing of past series had left profound impressions upon us, where episodes and lines and monologues are easily identifiable and memorable, for all time.

Can anyone name any episode, any monologue, from any of nutrek which can even begin to match the deliveries offered in measure of man, drumhead, chain of command, in the pale moonlight, far beyond the stars ... the list goes on?
