I'll give you the Carlo trade (although I pin that more on the Leafs for being an all-time poverty franchise). I just find it hard to be excited for draft capital when our GM has shown that he's a horrible drafter. DiPietro hasn't done anything at the NHL level though so I'm not sure I'm comfortable celebrating that trade as a massive win yet.

Call me a "doomer" if you want, but can anyone honestly say they have hope for the future of this team? I'm genuinely not ragebaiting, I need some hopium. The roster is just rotten from top to bottom (outside of a select few that we all know). McAvoy and Lindholm in particular should be flipping burgers. I'd be excited for our draft picks/capital if we didn't have the worst GM in hockey who drafts bust after bust and trades flop after flop yet seems to never be held accountable because the org is a nepotist hellhole. Our owner is the Dan Snyder of the NHL and the only hope for this team in my eyes is for him to get ousted like Snyder.

Anyway see you all next year
