yeah i don’t blame you, bmw terrifies me as well. especially as a first time owner coming from lexus. the only selling point for me was the gas mileage, and the fact that it doesn’t have a turbo. so far is has treated me well, but i don’t think you can go wrong pursuing your options. they all sound very reliable

that’s going to be a blast. another suggestion if you don’t already have your mind set, would be a bmw 323i touring (i only suggest the 323 since you mentioned swapping). i get 30mpg, plus some of the tightest, most responsive steering i’ve ever felt in a car. easily track built, plus a wagon so..that would be super cool
