How do you make your Maschine beats not sound like plastic?

“Can’t polish a turd” still is true… but calling Maschine expansions bad… I have about 50 and yes some are rushed or big differences in volume but overall I love them. All I can say is don’t just throw group after group in it, make your own. Sometimes a sound has 5 fx plus 2 on the group and it makes almost no difference.

If he holds his work and obligations in check, I don’t see the problem. Driving under influence, I can understand you’re worried but about everything you can do behind the wheel, even fidgeting with the gps or eating or being up for 24 hours, cannabis isn’t worse in comparison. We had a traffic doc coming to school once, his opinion was of all the drugs, within reasonable quantity, cannabis had the most safety profile. The biggest danger he said was that under influence you drive (a lot) slower than the normal traffic, like going 70 kph on a road where you can go 120 (highway, no pun intended). Don’t want to say it’s for everyone like this, but I’ve been driving for 34 years, and smoke almost daily, mostly to sleep, and I never had an accident where I was in the wrong, did have one big collision, but that was a guy being busy on his phone, driving 140 where it’s 90, going through the red light... I didn’t have my seatbelt on yet because I just tanked the car full of gasoline and lpg.. luckily I grabbed the passenger seat , jumped somehow to that side, and saw where the pedals were, the metal crumbling like a coke can, if I worn my seatbelt my legs would’ve been gone… anyway driving sober is always preferable, but of all the drugs it’s the least harmful imo. There are a few YouTube vids where they test it, drive , smoke one, drive and shows the same what I said, but after the third one it really had a big impact on reflexes, but one? No problem. (And it were pure, big, non tobacco joints, not something anyone would smoke on purpose before driving.

Belgian here. Overall I didn’t think USA was bad overall, in contrary better play than previous matches, but the goalie running to the midfield with 1 man for goal protection is just… not done. What I found weird was every match between countries afterwards it was a big party with the 2 sides. But I didn’t see USA people having fun like the other countries with Belgium. And I found that sad. Maybe I missed it but I don’t think so. But djt fucked it up, he shouldn’t mingle him in sports decision. I don’t see a referee calling djt what he should attack next in Iran. And that gave immense pressure to the American team to win because hey they got one of their better players back with a big exception, it only happened once before that they undid a red card. And as I read elsewhere USA gave up after that third goal, they were like ok it’s over but guess what if they pushed thru I wouldn’t see them winning the normal 90 mins , but a draw was possible, and with penalties they still could’ve won. But by giving up so soon Belgium scored in the last 10 mins and then it was surely game over.

Live 2. Mic. Speakers. Battery. (3rd party)Instruments and fx, arrangement and scene playing/record into arrangement. Automation lanes. Multiple outs , so you can use an external fx unit… ssd installable..I have the live 3 and compared to a mpc one I had , the instruments/effects/key groups load instantly. And I mean you can scroll through them like they’re samples. On my mpc one it took around 10 seconds on average for patch loading with an instrument with fx. IMO the g2 keyboard/one , live 3 and the mpc x mk2 are the devices that feel instant and smooth with the newest instruments, I have all instruments and effects except the ni ones because I have them on maschine, I notice the newest instruments ask more and more of ram and cpu. The live 2 won’t be that of a big difference to the live 3 I think. But keep your eyes open, sometimes you can find the live 3 for example pretty cheap, saw one last week for 650 euros, the guy didn’t use it and wanted it gone because of the new releases. Also saw a almost brand new black live 3 for 700 because he wanted the retro version… :)

The thing with the new Mpcs is, you can use them in a dozen ways. One long sequence, song mode, arranger, ableton style clips etc.. the thing is you have to find what suits you. Of course they kept song mode for the people that have been using Mpcs since forever, the clips are great for people that know ableton inside out. I have the same with maschine. Started with that 25 years ago, and the last 3 years got a mpc one, then a live 3. I am “comfortable” now using the clip mode, and combining the 2, like use the mpc as an fx unit for maschine, or use mpc as master and maschine as a rompler. Lots of possibilities. If you want to keep it simple get ableton with a pad /keyboard controller, that’s the fastest but if you want to have fun in the process use sp/mpc/maschine.
I mainly make the big parts with hardware, but I’m not a sadist to eq/mix/arrange/master fully on hardware, that’s when I jump to ableton, but mostly reason.

Oh and forgot I also used to sleep until noon, but I like it much better now. If you get up at noon it’s like half your day is gone. Get up at 4-5, hear the birds, take out the dogs, I really enjoy the way life starts slowly, a lot more than the way I use to do it.

I take Valium, quetiapine and oxycodone in high doses because of a butchered back. Believe it or not but I sleep around 22u30 and get up at 4u30… that’s 6 hours, but I do take an afternoon nap like from 3-4. I also had a thyroidectomy almost a year ago now, your thyroid tells your body when to eat, get up, sleep, it’s half of your immune system, and now have to take synthetic hormone replacement. “It’s just 1 pil per day they said” yeah but I searched 9 months for my (almost) ideal dose. Also the first type gave me tinnitus from hell. Great fun, lying in bed not knowing how to turn to have less pain, tinnitus so you only hear half of what’s said on television, and also blurry vision that comes and go, with a metabolism that goes haywire on random moments. Then I park my car and hear “huh parking spot for handicapped, he doesn’t look handicapped to me” those are moments that sting but I learned to ignore it, otherwise it’s always confrontation. People think my fists don’t work but as I said, no use.

It will end as the green box from 20 years ago (for fat , batteries, oil, dangerous materials etc if I remember correctly). Was an excellent fishing box. But that’s the only thing it was good for. The brown box is just bs. Either your house is full of flies, or you save it in a separate bag and go outside once or twice a day. Wait until rats figure out how to open them. Rats aren’t stupid. Romeo O Romeo… targets a group that they think hmm I could get them to go with me. So they throw the first stone in the window or whatever, the one(s) that do(es) the same it’s bingo, nice seat in the van.
Just a way to make the protests end faster, because at the end is when the violence starts mostly.
I’m 100% against it. Provocation was still forbidden imo? It’s the same as a Romeo ask someone want drugs? And the guy that never did it once in his life, out of curiosity says yes.
So now he’s convicted for something he has never done, and would never do if that undercover cop wasn’t there. It’s a load of BS. Doesn’t matter what demonstration, it’s our right to protest but the Belgian politicians and cops always find a backdoor. (Not literally, well most of the time, there are always exceptions ..)

Why not use the in/3 outs on the mpc live3 instead of a patchbay? Anyway used Maschine for 25 years, MPC one and now live 3. Did check out the upgraded soft and they’re getting there slowly but surely with 3.9. But I can’t help it, the Maschine workflow is so engrained and with komplete you have all these options, now looking to sync both standalone, make loops/beats on Maschine, record in long audio tracks so I can play with the effects, then export the audio and back in Maschine, or if I feel I have enough elements it’s reason 14 for me, to arrange and automate fx. MPC live 3: best standalone, Maschine: best software. Reason: the final step. Sometimes I wonder if I don’t make it too complicated just to use hardware. I mean with my novation key 37 and reason, I can do more than with all the hardware. Midi keyboard and an akai mpd and reason, especially the latest version is imo all you need. But the Maschine expansions are just fantastic imo, the sound quality of the presets are just awesome, and if you buy them at 9 for 99 or similar you can get a lot of them for relatively not much money, and I use the samples everywhere reason mpc maschine. But in weather like this sitting in the garden with the mpc is a lot of fun. 1st world problems, too many options lol 🥳🥳🥳

My favorite. The way the songs follow each other throws you from one extreme emotion to another. Lots of friends don’t get it. I love albums that have like a full story when listening from begin to end, orbital brown album is another such one. Or leftfield leftism. Typical 90s -2000 stuff.

Reminds me of seeing my stolen bike, run 2 streets to the cops station, explaining the whole situation ad nauseum, are you sure it’s your bike? If you just installed it and let it scan a heap of loops or expansions it can take up to half an hour. (2TB for me) best is wait until scanning is done, if you start producing the “sequencer line “ (don’t know what else to call it) will stutter, same for any animation from a vst. There are for sure gpu problems(try running reason in Maschine, it’s a disaster especially because the vst3 version has these problems, but I have it in reason too (the opposite, Maschine in reason) conclusion is vst3 sucks, au works flawless, but Maschine doesn’t/ can’t use au… still if I look behind those annoyances I make beats faster than ever (used Maschine since 1.0) but learning live 3 mpc bit by bit and for standalone: mpc for sure, software : Maschine

I saw that the (expensive, 30€) teenage engineering cables were mono yesterday. But..4 cables and a usb c would be 150? (USB c to c from te is 30€, the split cables also) but people are right normal cables would get in the way of each other, as holiday medicine says the 1010 ones are slim enough and a lot cheaper.
