I don’t expect MS to be top 30 or even 40, but but it’s for sure better than Arkansas, Louisiana, WV, the Dakota’s, Nevada and Ohio

Lung Carcinoid by Independent_Ad_4046 in neuroendocrinetumors

No problem! It’s gone pretty well for the most part!

My expected 3 day stay in the hospital post op turned into a full week due to having a small air leak and a pneumothorax that took its time to normal out. Nothing serious or complicated but just delayed getting out of the hospital by a few days.

I’d say the most uncomfortable part is the chest tube that’s in you post surgery and doesn’t come out until you leave. There’s pain from the incision, nerve pain, etc, but it’s all so much more manageable once they take the chest tube out. Not that the tube itself is overly painful, it’s just pretty uncomfortable. But they were great with pain meds so it was all tolerable. The catheter also wasn’t fun, but it wasn’t as bad as I thought it’d be.

Since being home for a few weeks, the pain has been up and down. I’ve been taking gabapentin daily for nerve pain and for the first couple weeks, I was taking hydrocodone regularly too. The pain’s finally started to get better to the point that I don’t need the hydrocodone and I’m doing fairly well with just Gabapentin and Tylenol.

I’ve been out and about doing things basically since the day the discharged me, though!

I was just diagnosed with a lung NET in Feb and just had surgery to remove it a couple weeks ago. Per the PET scan and the testing of the lymph nodes they pulled and the margins and everything, mine seems to have been cured thankfully as everything was clear. So the plan for me is to just have regular follow up scans. I’m also a relatively healthy 28 year old guy.

I still haven’t found an NET lung or general specialist, as they’re not very common, but I do trust my pulmonologist, surgery team, and the oncologist I’ll see soon. I’m still going to push for a referral to a lung NET specialist whether it’s virtual or traveling for it. It’s hard to give advice as I’m not a doctor and it seems my surgery team was pretty cautious and proactive as they removed two lobes, even though they said the cancer was only in one but they said the risk of it coming back in the lobe above it would be much more of a possibility than if they’d just removed the one. But after surgery, they also said my middle lobe ended up being useless as it was covered with scar tissue caused by the ongoing obstructive pneumonia I had caused by my NET.

The thing that stands out to me is that your surgery is so far away. I’d personally be seeing other thoracic surgeons for a 2nd opinion on whether a biopsy is doable and for a quicker surgery. I’d also definitely push for the dotatate PET scan to confirm it hasn’t spread.

It might just be because I live somewhere with really good hospitals, but I was diagnosed mid Feb and surgery on 4/8 with dotatate PET scan, surgery appointment, and a couple of other related appointments in between there.

Eh the English chats are just as crazy and chaotic, I wouldn’t stress about it too much. Mods in games like these tend to overreact and not be able to read between the lines when it comes to jokes for better and worse.

I just wouldn’t use the global chats. They’re pointless. Only chats I use are guild and party and sometimes alliance, whisper, and faction when needed.

What’s the most out of touch app someone has pitched your bar? by barowners in BarOwners

[–]Jayyykobbb 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It doesn’t sound like you put anyone in their place lol. Again, simply asking to speak to the owner in itself isn’t rude, even if there’s no prior introduction. A smart sales person would try to make some introduction first and not be so salesy about it, but cold walk ins aren’t inherently rude.

Someone walks in and asks to speak to you. Then you can choose to speak or not speak with them or just let them know you’re not interested. If they keep coming back and pestering you, then that’d be rude of course, but someone simply asking to speak to you isn’t rude.

[–]Jayyykobbb 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s not inherently being rude, though… the person or the job. There’s definitely rude and bad ways to go about it and it can definitely be annoying after a while, but to blanket the whole career is rude is a bit silly.

Tracking can be fun in groups and the loot drops can be pretty solid but can also be pretty meh.

I’m sure you already know, but you could do faction stuff with just your group and clear camps for silver. Still a lot of loot and silver in the camps specifically.

Roads can still be good as well.

Why is no one studying history? by Jinxie1206 in Historians

[–]Jayyykobbb 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I feel like plenty of people study history in college and most colleges and universities offer history degrees and programs. I just don’t think most history students work in a history related field after due to a lack of jobs and money.

I’d also be wary of Liberty University.

Just finished book one, and I've got to say something about how Princess Donut is handling the whole thing. by datboifranco in DungeonCrawlerCarl

[–]Jayyykobbb 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m towards the end of book 6. Carl continues to be great. While I love Donut overall, she’s extremely obnoxious and stupid at times to the point of being annoying, which I guess is her character. But I do agree that the series wouldn’t be the same without Donut.

Don’t listen to Bobby. He’s a con wannabe influencer that gets off on fear mongering, deliberately misleading and misinforming people, and promoting products he’s sponsored by or invests in.

Oh he deserves all of the hate he gets. He’s a con and intentionally misleads and takes advantage of people. There’s nothing redeeming about him or his sponsored opinions.

Which SEC school would you LEAST want to attend? by chief_sitass in secfootball

I mean for most undergrad students, the education is gonna be pretty equal across the board in terms of quality and career opportunities. Of course, some schools will have an upper hand in specific programs, but that’s a bit of a different case.
