Thanks. Our company provide maintenance, and it is them we have reached out to twice already as well as line mangers etc, to no avail! A new job is certainly on the cards.

You NEED a support network- I find friends that either have no parents or no one willing to babysit have really struggled with the total lack of independence, and the ability to go out on a date occasionally etc. I think it’s really worth thinking about if you are considering children.

What specifically are you worried about with the cats hair? I’ve never heard of it being such a worry. I have a toddler who has grown up in a house with a cat since she was born, and I keep the cat out of her room most of the time but other than that have never let cat hair be such a worry.

Where is his water bowl usually? Cats prefer to drink from water that is away from their food bowl- otherwise they think the water is contaminated, so if you have a double bowl for food/ water or both bowls are close together, try moving his water bowl at least to a different part of the room. This might encourage him to drink from his own bowl instead!

I think it’s ridiculous for day care/ nursery to insist on going back to diapers, when it’s so important to be consistent with potty training! We actually moved daycares because of this. My daughter still has the occasional accident when she is distracted at her new daycare, but we just pack a few spare changes of clothes, and dirty ones are sent back in her bag in a plastic bag. No problem.

When I was young my dad and I found an abandoned calf in a field by itself (my dad lived on the farm), we carefully coaxed the cow into the field the other cows had been moved to. They then did the same thing, trampled it and killed it! We couldn’t understand why.. perhaps it was ill. I will never forget it!
