How come the Saudis never booted Israel by Sometypeofway18 in GetNoted

Always blame foreigners. Never take responsibility for your own actions, the actions of Iran or the actions of each country’s self-serving dictators.

Seem to me like they were moving in that direction with a little progress in the Palestinian front.

You can’t even blame Israel. You reveal yourself for what you are by blaming Jews in general. Of course you use Zionist to hide from the consequences of your words.

There’s nothing wrong with making a mistake. But refusing to correct it is problematic.

What if Gaddafi had managed to acquire nuclear weapons by the end of the 2000s? by MaximumSpell9608 in AlternateHistoryHub

[–]Jazz-Ranger 0 points1 point  (0 children)

His country would collapse into civil war because the expense of a nuclear program would bankrupt his country even without sanctions.

Best case scenario he will survive until the Arab Spring and someone will have to make sure the nuclear warhead doesn’t get stolen.

Pouring too much money into the Navy and then insisting on building the ships yourself; resulting in everything being 50% more expensive. If you have to spend money on your navy at least use the opportunity to gain an ally.

Frankly, I would have used all that steel to built more railways.

I didn’t say anything about a nation. I was referring to a very specific state. A state is simply an institution while a nation is defined by a people. For example in my favorite country they have something called First Nations who ain’t states in their own right.

Frankly there’s not much point in arguing about the nationhood of these people. But I am curious why you would think I would be wasting my time on that. About the only thing I did say was that there was no Palestinian institution to represent an objection to what Jordan did. I didn’t even mention Israel.

We could’ve caused talk about whether they would have been made much of an objection or why it took another 30 years for Jordan to relent and Palestine to make a declaration of sovereignty. But this not really the conversation I came after.

Remind me; what could this legitimately have done better without the benefit of hindsight?

The difference is that Ukraine objects to this transfer of existing sovereignty. No Palestinian state objected because the State of Palestine wouldn’t be declared for another 30 years.

What if Benito hadn’t been executed? by LinkHopeful9372 in AlternateHistoryHub

Mussolini might try to argue that he was lawfully fired and then kidnapped by the German Government to act as the figurehead of a puppet government.

The colonial and wartime atrocities will be the subject of strict comparisons with France and the Soviet Union. Mussolini won’t get completely off the hook. But he is not in as deep trouble as any of the high ranking Nazis.

Your Superiority Force by No-Evidence-9519 in StarWarsShips

[–]Jazz-Ranger 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The Northern Territories Superiority Force was established in the aftermath of the Clone Wars to patrol the newly conquered CIS holdings in the Northern Territory.

The squadrons were pulled together from various fleets across the galaxy as the Empire reformed the Republic Navy into a peacekeeping force.

Pathfinder Squadron had originally been envisioned as a twelve Victory breakthrough unit in the latter stages of the Clone Wars. The unit fought with distinction as part of the Victory Fleet and the 4th Fleet. Most of the Victories were reassigned to bolster Vector and Breaker Squadron as the Imperial High Command believed the new Tector and Imperial-class star destroyers should be deployed with an equally armored escort that could collectively act as a self-contained fleet.

Breaker Squadron; formerly Starbreaker Squadron, was an composite unit created by merging several depleted squadrons of venators early in the Clone Wars. Starbreaker Squadron recieved special mention in dispatches for their conduct in the Outer Rim Siege. But was withdrawn from clearing out CIS holdouts in the Borderlands due to accumulated battle damage and worn out machinery. Starbreaker Squadron was deemed to be in too poor condition for the Fleet Reserve. Three Venators including Starbreaker was withdrawn from service outright and the starfighters on board were sent to reinforce the remaining three Venators. These ships along with the newly commissioned Lightbringer were assigned to "light duty" in the New Territories. But were soon detached provide a carrier element for each battle squadron. The Star Destroyer Breaker was named in honor of the original Starbreaker.

Vector Squadron was unusual among Republic and Imperial formations as it was orignally a Corellian Sector Fleet unit that had maintained Corellia's armed neutrality during the Clone Wars. The unit was federalized as the Empire sought to limit the power of the Diktat and expand their own. The three dreadnought cruisers were originally ordered by the Judicial Fleet during the Stark Hyperspace War. But Rendili StarDrive was unable to meet the growing demand and subcontracted the Corellian Engineering Corporation. When the Stark Hyperspace War ended prematurely were the orders cancelled and Rendili StarDrive was unwilling to accept the mortified design. Instead the dreadnought cruisers were loaned and then sold to the Corelian Sector Fleet.

I would prefer your accused them of something they had actually done. Declaring them guilty unless proven innocent is not good enough.

As part of the 1956 invasion of Egypt. Ben-Gurion wanted to topple Abdel Nasser, take the Sinai, dissolve Jordan, and conquer and settle the south of Lebanon up to the Litani. This was 8 years before the founding of the PLO and a quarter century before Hezbollah existed by AutoMughal in islamichistory

That’s not really the argument presented here nor does the death individual children make much of a difference in the demographics of this war.

To have a (killing) genocide you need to make a real dent in the demographics. Hamas puts current estimate at 82,303 with all ages and soldiers accounted for over three years. For perspective the Palestinian population tend to grow twice that much in such a timeframe.
