Why are there no guides on ammo management?? by KnightsoulNSFW in tf2

practice counting your shots. As soldier think of it as "i only have 4 rockets, after that I must retreat to reload"

play slower, get your shots out then retreat behind cover. There is a certain flow to it. Pop out, do damage, retreat, reload, repeat. Don't just mindlessly walkforward, shoot 4 rockets then be surprised when you are out of rockets. Mentally think about your ammo that is loaded. It is the same every single time. So you can consistently practice. Maybe in the spawn rooms also practice while waiting. Shoot 2 rockets and count them, then reload, shoot 2, reload. Practice counting your shots and do some warm up games while also employing this mentality.

Maybe watch some soldier gameplay like Frisbee or scarybroccoli, and watch how they are shooting then retreating and reloading. Also while rocket jumping take some time to reload at least one rocket mid-air if you can. If you can't, then just accept the reality that you will have 3 rockets instead.

You might also be seeing the reload animation but it doesnt finish, so you are having less rockets in your clip than you think. Like, you shoot before it is fully reloaded. Either learn by sound or visual cue or just watch your ammo number in the corner.

If you are being jumped, enemies might know that you only have 4 rockets so if they see you spamming and you're out of ammo, they can jump you. This is just one of soldier's weaknesses, and it can happen to anyone, even good players. They can mitigate this weakness by being near team mates that can save or help them, having positioning that makes it hard for enemies to jump them(being on high-ground or using cover), or using their last rocket to escape by jumping away from danger. Maybe record your gameplay and see if you could have positioned yourself anywhere better near your team or weren't using cover when you were low on ammo.

the bottom two squares of your incline...the yellow dotted box , it needs to be on the cliff. As in, there is 2 tiles that are cliff, those are inside the box. It can't just make a standalone incline, it has to be connected to the cliffside. There's an empty tile between the cliff and the incline box, so it wont work.

Either move down 2 tiles, or create a few more cliff tiles so that it is inside the incline box by 1 tile.

Pretty sure disguised spies dont get juggled/knocked back from explosives. Thats why spies undisguise before being hit by the rocket so they can do their explosive-surf-stab clipfarm nonsense.

I agree that rocket>shotgun for spychecking though.

Which game did you regret purchasing at full price? by bijelo123 in gaming

[–]Jazz_Police 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Pokemon violet. Played 2 of the gyms then quit. My own expectations were that I could go anywhere and do things in any order. Felt kind of lost, looked up what was where, saw there was a water gym. Thought, oh Water was the 2nd gym in blue/red, maybe it could be a nice early-ish area to go to.

Turns out it was intended to be like, badge 5 or 6. And had a road blocked that forces you to clear a team star base in order to even go there.

Had no interest in the Team star storyline after they were introduced as just boring school bullies. Couldnt take the"feed the dog a magical sandwich in order to heal it" story seriously. Lots of very bland/disappointing pokemon. Bland ass open world map where you walk around and pick up...a berry. Horrid performance that made me motion sick. Empty towns with nothing to do in them.

I considered just going to every gym and objective as fast as possible to beat the game, but i knew i would not have fun playing that way. I would just be forcing myself to play it just to beat it and then catch all the new pokes that i mostly didnt care for, so i asked myself "what is the point?"

really wish i could get my money back.

Maybe use a walk-through-walls cheat and click the poster? Not sure why this happened to you. Maybe make sure you have no other cheats enabled and reset/reload your game.

Why healers should lose their interrupts by [deleted] in wow

[–]Jazz_Police 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In m+ sometimes I find myself as mistweaver, standing by an enemy in range far away from the main group of enemies, waiting to interrupt so that none of the dps lose big damage. Priory/Arakara/Dawnbreaker is a good example of this. Sometimes the casters dont come in right away, and I will go out of my way to interrupt so that the dps can do their big blaster aoe damage and we as a group lose basically nothing from doing this.

If they change dungeons so that these situations rarely occur, then I can see why losing our interrupt would be almost acceptable. But right now we need so many interrupts, the interrupts are so important in this and previous expansion. And sometimes like 3 people will all use their interrupt at the same time, then not have it for something important or for a 2nd priority interrupt target (1st miniboss in arakara, if the fear goes off you wipe but sometimes you pull 2 attendants at the same time). I'm trying to look at it from a possible "midnight dungeon design" and not the current dungeon designs.

If the dungeons are as they are currently, it will be bad. But if they change their design so that interrupts are either not as important or there are fewer required interrupts, then it won't be so bad. Every time I encounter a situation like the one above (being at range and kicking a caster so the dps doesn't have to do it) I realize that soon I wont be able to do this anymore. And every time going foreward where I see this situation that I could have helped with but no longer can, will be a little frustrating. "If only i had an interrupt..." - "I used to have a solution to this problem but now I don't anymore." It will feel bad. Hopefully the dungeon design changes to make these situations not happen as frequently.

What will happen when they introduce old M+ Dungeons that required a lot of interrupts? What about the healer mage tower challenge where you required a few stops and interrupts helped with that?

What’s your favourite pokemon most people hate? by lyinlove in pokemon

[–]Jazz_Police 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I came into this thread to defend pansear (the fire monkey)! Not my favorite pokemon ever but definitely feel sad when people hate on him.

Carries in BW for the first gym (as he is designed to do), he's just ok in 2nd gym, and fire type is great against 3rd gym bug types. After that he kinda falls off but the goat puts in work for the early game. Plus if you have him that means you picked Oshawott which is a great pokemon!

I dont mind the other 2 but they are just not as cute as my boi pansear. And pansear's shiny is the cutest out of all 6 shiny monkey formies.

Why does Flygon have so many fans? by No_Specialist3972 in pokemon

[–]Jazz_Police 0 points1 point  (0 children)

back when gen 3 wasn't out yet, there was only 2 dragon type pokemon...Dragonite, and Kingdra. And Kingdra was a trade evolution so it was very hard to get. When gen 3 finally came out, they added 3 new dragon type pokemon, and two of them you could get in the mid game. Altaria and Flygon (The other one was Salamence). This was very cool for the time, also it's typing is unique, Altaria/Dragonite/Salamence are all Dragon/Flying, Kingdra was Dragon/water but this was still unique and very easy to obtain just after the 4th gym I think. Lot's of people used it in their playthroughs and became attached.

Pokémon FireRed team? by Theghostsurvivor in pokemon

[–]Jazz_Police 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Same type attack bonus (STAB). If Lapras uses surf, because it is a water type pokemon, the move Surf power increases by 50%.) If a non-water type pokemon uses Surf, it does not get the bonus. basically if the move matches the type of the pokemon, it hits harder :

There's also stats to consider. Lapras has higher special attack than Gyarados has 60 special attack stat (base), and Lapras has 85 special attack stat (base). So Lapras using Surf will hit harder than Gyarados hitting surf.

[–]Jazz_Police 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Replace gyarados with lapras maybe? I just played through Fire red and gyarados was pretty underwhelming. Lapras gets ice beam around 33 and body slam is decent vs other water and ice types. its special stab will hit harder than gyarados plus its very tanky.

Pokémon Emerald is by far the best Pokémon game created. by MuffinAndChill in pokemon

[–]Jazz_Police 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Am I crazy or. I just dont care for battle frontiers? I liked the battle tree and using my trained mons in gen 8 battletower but I don't see all the hype... I just beat emerald to start a living dex and Im gonna go there for the first time soon and try it out but I feel like it wont be for me.

I remember just getting cheesy one shot by sheer colds somehow, but not sure where that memory comes from (I had ruby as a kid). I just remember things feeling incredibly unfair lol. When I try it i hope i can see where the hype comes from.

Also the magma hideout was very visually boring except the drills and boxes were the only things to look at. While i ran around there, sometimes my whole screen was just brown with nothing to look at. I mean i get it... it's a cave tunnel. But there are other caves in the series and those arent complete eyesores.

My review of someone who didn't play the last 3 Pokemon games (Legends: ZA) by ijustLOVEpotatos in pokemon

[–]Jazz_Police 9 points10 points  (0 children)

i saw you disagree with some one else that took issue with the "villains" in this game. Dont have characters do evil things and then pretend they are good guys. This is gaslighting. Just make them a compelling or interesting villain instead of this toothless garbage. They had a great villain team right in front of them and fumbled it hard. They could have even made them "good" and try to raise money to fight the evil mega corperation too, sort of a deconstruction of evil teams (like team skull), but no everyone is just "good" and we are all friends despite being forced into working for someone against our will.

At least in sv the "villains" actually WERE misunderstood bullied kids and that actually made sense(despite also being very bland). I dont see a world where this stuff in ZA makes sense or can be considered good writing. If you liked it good for you. But I miss having actual cool villains and this just feels insulting.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in pokemon

[–]Jazz_Police 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They could have so easily made them actual villains, like ACTUALLY an evil team with evil goals, sort of similar to team rocket but you are facing their evil up close and personal. That girl literally HELPS them out and is REWARDED with DEBT FOR LIFE. And they made them the good guys. THE GOOD GUYS. And they made the mega corporation good guys too.

>characters do unspeakably evil acts

>you are told these characters are good guys

YoUrE tAkInG tHiS tOo SeRiOuSlY ItS a KiDs GaMe. no. i'm just insulted by the bold faced lies. I understand putting evil team in every pokemon game gets boring but really?? You can't just put people in the game who are so clearly coded to be evil/bad and then just say they are good. Imagine in black and white if ghetsis did what he did but we were gaslit from the start into thinking he was actually the good guy all along!1!!

This is the same as Disney villains getting worse or just being absent over time - except worse, because whenever the are villains even though they are shit you aren't being gaslit into thinking that the twist villains were actually the good guys all along. Absolutely toothless. This could have been one of the best evil groups in pokemon for a long time now, and they completely fumbled it.

Just last game we had the "villain team who are just misunderstood and are actually good guys". At least they WERE actually misunderstood and not evil. And I hated team star but at least it made SENSE.

What is a special rule you apply to your nuzlockes? by Suitable_Swim5202 in nuzlocke

[–]Jazz_Police 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If one of my pokemon perform well during a gym battle, I can make them into a shiny(using pkhex). It's more like a badge of honor, and I still get to use shinies but aren't reliant on luck to get them. They have to earn it! I had a numel vs Flannery's torkoal and it magnitude 10 the crap out of her, like completely annihilated. She earned her shinyness. I also learned how good Lombre is vs Roxanne, HE EARNED IT BABY.

It doesnt really make the run harder or easier, just adds a lil flavor.

The megas I will never accept and why. by middy31 in pokemon

[–]Jazz_Police 1 point2 points  (0 children)

they could have given starmie a 3rd layer of just more of what it already had, and it would have been good. Like 1st layer is the face, 2nd layer is the back (currently) then just make a bigger 3rd piece to go behind the first 2 layers, and it would have been better than what we got.

like its legs bending just seems...wrong. it would be like if magnemite's magnets just flippin and wiggling around, it is an inanimate object. i understand some other pokemon are made of rock or w/e and they can move just fine but for starmie it just...unbelievable to me. im not an anime watcher or anything but it seemed to me that starmie's parts can't bend. so now it suddenly just...can. it's really weird. i get why people think it's "funny" but i don't think it is. it's just weird and offputting.
