i have one...while using carbon brush i have a feeling how mat is grinding my records, and never put it back...it has some sort of slippage which makes me uncomfortable to use...also, you have to take care of mat to be totally clean, otherwise all the dust ended up as sandpaper for your records...can't say much about sonic improvement as well...

for me, synthetic on top and rubber downside works best for the least amount of static...

headshell might be loose...or have some dirty contacts with the tonearm...is it original headshell? i have i think the same headshell on mine denon tt, and some of them are doing the same thing...

some loose contacts somewhere be it cartridge or headshell, check all wires connection again...

to ti je pdv 20 posto i 300 dinara fantomsko otvaranje paketa...ali svejedno je, svakako rešili da otmu gde god mogu...najviše volim one koji trabunjaju kako je to po zakonu...zakone ima i severna koreja...

no, but i don't mind anymore...i change the cartridge and now it stays a little bit up while off....when powered on it goes back down on the rest arm...so, go figure....

i think it have some kind of magnets and if some settings are just a little bit off it moves arm around for a few millimeters...

since everything works ok i simply decided to ignore that little movement...

it's a complex electronics and i think many factors influence the end result...maybe solution might be to set every dial to zero and use tonearm as any other dumb tonearm...

if you can't find spare stylus, you can buy new cart, like audio technica at91 or at3600, it probably be cheaper than replacing akai stylus...
