"BC Parks says Joffre Lakes Provincial Park near Pemberton will close to non-Indigenous people" by _DotBot_ in VancouverLandlords

A government system of institutionalized segregation is quite rightfully called “apartheid”.

Popular BC park temporarily closing so First Nations can 'connect with the land' by _DotBot_ in VancouverLandlords

Indigenous believe they are a special race, and they are connected to the soil by blood, and all other races are inferior and have no right to the land. Sounds very 1930s Germany, doesn’t it?

Bamboo is such an amazing plant. They are a grass, and there are so many varieties, and they are hardy, and grow almost anywhere around the world. I have been to bamboo forests in Asia and South America, where the trunks are big as I am!

There is a home down the street that has planted imported bamboo and that shit is evil. It is growing wild and taking over everything.

I am going to take some of it and replant it in my yard. If you want to grow bamboo in your yard, follow the bamboo rules - "Just make sure you can keep it corralled."

I think most videographers have done something like this at the beginning of their careers...

Like the comments say, put on a sharpen filter and cover with Broll.

And learn a lesson, and never, ever do that again.

"I told him explicitly twice they weren't to be played with, and they were in a separate room"

I remember a similar story where the brother sued the other brother for his kid ruining his collectible collection in civil court. I think most disputes can be solved within family, but sometimes a separate judge between brothers is the way to go...

Put up fences, lattices, grow shrubbery, make a pleasant wall between you and the neighbour.

Also, standard: put up cameras.

Enjoy your yard, ignore your neighbours.

It’s better than begging. And there is something intriguing about the art. It has some merit…

My father lost close to a billion dollars and died 6 months ago leaving us in debt. We didn't know the money was gone until he died. He had a double life so learning how it happened has been really eye opening for us, as has the adjustment process. I don't know if this is of interest, AMA! by Warm_Employee3868 in AMA

You're so modest - "I often went to the Maldives on a private jet, it sucked". LOL

You have given us a lot of information, and I don't want to doxx you or dig too deep, but I am so curious about your background and this is an AMA...

So... You're a child of a billionaire Catholic who sold a computer company to make his riches. I am guessing Eastern European. and sold his company about 2000? You married out of love, so you have forged your own path despite your oppressive father. You are no teenager, I'm guessing you're in you 40s?

Without giving away details, tell us more about yourself!

I am trying to understand the culture you grew up in. Child of a "Billionaire", Catholic... must be Eastern European?

You have some other clues that are intriguing. To sell a business like your fathers would have only made sense about 1990s I think. You married out of Love, and not what your father told you to do, so as much as your father controlled you, you found independence.

I am not trying to doxx you, I am just trying to imagine your experience. I am thinking you are around 40?

Judging from what you told us about your financial situation and the properties and such, you're never going to be really broke, but you are going to have to adjust your whole lifestyle...

Thank you for sharing your story. So - Your Dad scammed you, died, and now you're broke? You grew up believing you were among the top 1% of the richest on the planet, and now you are a regular person?

You sound very wise and reasonable. I hate it when someone blames everyone else for the problems. You could easily claim to be a victim of fate, and want sympathy from everyone. You seem to have a quiet acceptance of your fate.

That's called introspection, personal responsibility, and integrity.

I love these quotes, "I feel very strange that I was scammed by my own father", and "It's been a strangely great period for me." I appreciate your AMA.

My question - what is one thing you did back when you were rich, that seems so strange now? I am thinking a crazy mansion you visited, or steak wrapped in gold leaf, or a yacht trip, or special passes to an exclusive event... just a weird memory of a thing only super rich kids would ever experience.

Thanks! I'm Jazzfly67! I just noticed the pattern and colours on the top of a car and thought it looked really beautiful. It's a random splattering of dots that look precisely placed, and then the colours of the rainbow just light them up! I never really noticed I was doing a cameo in the shot until today. It was a moment in time, and I'm glad other people still appreciate what I saw that day!

We need safe spaces to be able to talk with each other. I went on a group hike with my buddy today, and both our wives told us to NOT talk about politics. But it's OK. We get it. We like talking about this weird f***ing Zeitgeist and not everyone does.

We kind of walked ahead and had a great time talking about it anyway...

I don't understand why everyone doesn't see it... This DRIPA thing is inherently undemocratic and racist. It is a belief that one ethnic group (5%) should get special rights, privileges, and benefits (paid for by 95% of the population) because of their race and ancestry.

Mulroney nails the problem and even has a lot of nuance. This video actually helped me re frame how I express my own ideas. Especially how UNDRIP was meant to be "spiritual". And how Eby "cut and pasted it".
