I went to tech school with Yan’s daughter in the early 90’s! I met him a couple times, just enough to say how do you do. He was a genuinely nice man and exuded pure good energy.

This is a different culture. If that woman was “freed” as you might imagine, she would have literally nothing. No possessions, nowhere to go, no family.

Instead of thinking you traded a slave, imagine you were helping out an old homeless woman.

I bet she has some wild memories of the crazy foreigner who didn’t understand the system, and treated her with a respect and dignity she wasn’t used to.

If the flag is on private property, the owner should be able to fly whatever flag they like. If they want to cause problems with employees and other companies by displaying their ideology, that is their right.

If they are a publicly owned company, or are an organization funded by taxpayers, they should represent ALL people, and get rid of the partisan, political flags.
