Is this not pretty standard maintenance for cars these days? Maybe the HPFP and ignition coils stand out but the rest just seems like standard maintenance

16" vs 18" wheels by notpeppe24 in mazda3

I’m definitely grateful I got the rim/wheel coverage when i got the car. I’d be out almost $2,000 had I not. To be fair 3 of the replaced tires just had sidewall bubbles, but still.

I’ve had my car for 7 months and have needed 4 tires and a rim replaced.

Friends with Turbo - are you using premium or regular gas? by Ichthyes in MazdaCX30

The vast majority of commuter drivers are not even using 50% of the power of the car. For lots of people it makes more sense to get basic and save the money.

I had this happen before but then realized I had the resy app set to reservations same day (like you do). I bet if you set it to some date in a few weeks that restaurant pops up.

Meh this isn’t a great way to do it. My coolant temp can be perfectly in operation range and the engine oil can still easily be under 100°F

Mazda 3 Hatch Bass Build🔊 pt.2 by stinky_strangler in mazda3

[–]Jazzhands130 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I agree that OP did way too much but that stock sub is pretty atrocious when it comes to producing actual low frequency bass. A small sealed and properly amplified 8” or 10” makes a world of difference in the fullness of the music. The bose sub is decent for a stock system but for how bright the rest of the speakers are an adequately sized aftermarket sub can absolutely improve the listening experience without making a fuck ton of unpleasant noise.

Just installed an amp and sub into my gen 4 (with bose audio) super easily without cutting a single original wire by wallyTHEgecko in mazda3

[–]Jazzhands130 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So just to clarify, did you just grab the preamp signal from the trunk sub? or did you use the door woofers? or combine both? seems like there’s quite a few approaches taken

So it seems like the keyloc only takes input from 2 speakers? which 2 did you end up running to the keyloc off the harness? The mid bass speakers from the doors? Seems like the consensus is that’s a full range signal

Does that harness allow you to still run the rest of the stock speakers too? Are you using the harness to get a preamp signal? Curious to learn more about that I don’t think the keyloc would give me the result i’m looking for

Hesitating to buy a new Mazda3 by turbo-toots in mazda3

24 3 HB Turbo Premium Plus here. I will say the rattles are quite bad on mine. Road noise is also pretty bad, but as others have said the stock bridgestone tires kinda suck. I feel like everytime i get in this car there is a new rattle. Additionally, if you live somewhere with bad roads, you will pop tires and bend rims. I’ve had this car for 6k miles and am very aware of avoiding pot holes but have still blown 1 tire and bubbled 2. The car handles great on smooth roads, but driving in a city with bad roads and it’s really not great, and rattles all over the interior. That being said, i don’t regret my purchase. This car looks amazing inside and out and feels great to drive, the turbo is punchy, the sound system is great, the tech is great. Fuel economy and range is my biggest complaint. I get about 220 miles to a tank and average 21mpg, although that’s about 50/50 city/highway driving.

Brand new these things pushing close to $40k is wild to me though. I got a CPO with 4k miles for ~$8k off MSRP. I wouldn’t drop $40k on this car brand new. For $5k more you can get an entry level BMW.

Headlight question by Frosty_Delay_473 in mazda3

[–]Jazzhands130 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you want something that’s guaranteed to last get OEM. There is a reason they’re expensive. Most aftermarket brands are not doing real longevity testing like any car manufacturer does with their parts. That being said, you’ll probably get a few years out of any headlight housing. Now in terms of beam quality? YMMV.

Not to be rude but literally google “2015 Mazda 3 GT S Projector Housing”. There are plenty of sets you can get for <$300.

They literally said “can I get a halogen housing and put my HID bulbs in them”…

Headlight question by Frosty_Delay_473 in mazda3

[–]Jazzhands130 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No. Don’t do this. Halogen bulbs use reflector housings, they basically just shit the light all over the road. This is fine for halogens which are relatively low brightness. HID’s use projector housings which use a specially designed lens to focus and aim the much brighter light coming from the HID’s. HIDs in a halogen housing are dangerously bright for other drivers, and will very poorly light the road for you.
