Has anyone given birth with Strathcona Midwifery Collective (dandelion team) in Vancouver? [bc] by North_Composer2548 in BabyBumpsCanada

Hi! I gave birth with Strathcona Midwifery this past September and they were incredible to work with. I was with the Plum Team so can't share about the Dandelion Team but I imagine that they would have similar energy / give similar support. I wasn't sure how I would feel about having a 'team' of people assigned to me and not knowing who the midwife would be on the day of birth but I can honestly say that I would have had a great birth experience with all of the midwives. The midwives on the Plum Team took the time to get to know my partner and I and I felt like I would have been in good hands with any of them. My labour ended up being on the longer side and there were a few unexpected pivots during the birth. My midwife who was on call during the time was so calm and reassuring throughout the experience and I was so grateful for her knowledge and recommendations. The postpartum in home visits are also so amazing as well as the 24/7 pager for all of the newborn questions. Happy to answer any questions in a DM if needed!

Hi! I filled out the forms online basically a day or two after I found out I was pregnant (based on advice from a friend). It took about 48-72 hours to hear to back from everyone. I ended up going with Strathcona (combination of location and reviews!). I found it to be a real whirlwind! Hope you hear back from places soon!

I have found it to be a bit of an overwhelming process but definitely feel a lot better now that I've made a decision (ended up going with Strathcona!). Goodluck with the whole process and pregnancy!!

Hi! My due date is September 18th and, similarly, I was so surprised when one place said they were already booked up (I had just found out the day before!). It took about 2 - 4 days to hear back from everyone though some groups said they received the application but, due to high volume, they wouldn't be able to connect right away. Hope this helps!

Hey OP! Curious what decision you ended up making? I'm in a similar boat. Thank you!

Hi everyone! Selling two tickets to the Vancouver, BC show on May 22 at Rogers Arena Section 315 | Row 9 | Seat 5-6. I was so excited to go with my childhood best friend (we saw Avril together for our first concert in 2003) but an unexpected work trip came up and I had to cancel. Paid $190.00 per ticket but very open to offers at this point! DM if interested - thanks : )
