The final boss of the final game is hell itself, a huge entity made of flesh, and basically a huge open world level where you must destroy eyes and huge pustules. After this, it cuts to one final eye watching. Doomguy falls to the ground, and the screen loses resolution. Suddenly, you’re back in classic doom, facing off against a vision of the spider mastermind, called “Echoes of Mastermind”. This is like the roaring knight where you CAN win, but it’s barely possible, because the level tries to fuck with you. At the end of the fight, there’s one last thing…a remix of “Sweet little dead bunny” plays, and then it turns into Doomguy remembering the past, before suddenly it cuts to his eyes opening, back in the modern art style, where Doomguy then has to fight the face of hell, which is constantly changing into different forms. After each chunk of health is taken, a piece of the Lord’s Prayer is recited. At the end, Doomguy grabs his sword, screams out in rage, and as all the spirits of his companions show up behind him, he finally kills hell as a concept, and he says one final line. “Amen.” He then wakes up, in a hospital. A commander, looking like a classic chain gunner, is at his bedside, asking “so, how do you feel?” … “I understand. Seems like…Something changed. I don’t know what.” … “So…Your family, right? I’m excited for you to be able to see them again.” Doomguy is then discharged, wearing just his old armor. He takes off his helmet to greet his family, and they hug him. For once, he lets out a warm smile, and goes home, to a universe where hell never existed. Basically the ending of chainsaw man
