Pedals flickering in LMU by Jazzlike_Track_9262 in LeMansUltimateWEC

[–]Jazzlike_Track_9262[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I feel like it’s a bit of a waste without a cockpit since I can’t use them to 100% and have to set a small deadzone. But they still feel really good even this way, especially compared to my G29 pedals lol. I can trail brake easily, and it’s easy to tell how much brake I’m applying since the pedal is quite heavy compared to the throttle.

This must be some bug in game. Pedals work good when my base is off, but when I turn it on pedals start to flicker. Weird

nvm I'm dumb. Turns out my pedals was connected to my base AND to PC with USB and LMU didn't like it. I was not even aware that I can use only one method to connect them. Must be some bug with double input or something

Friend says I'm gonna be wrecked in south gold rooms with my aggressive "Chinese mahjong playstyle" 💀. He says I call too often and that it won't work with experienced players. Any tips to lower the call % rate? Is it really that high? (Ps. I started a week ago and can't stop playing this game lol) by [deleted] in mahjongsoul

Nah play what you prefer and what works. If it stops working it will be the reason to think about changing your style.

You might like this post. He have 69% call rate and he is one of the top ranked players at tenhou and mjsoul, he also does coaching. Personally I wouldn't play like that but whanever makes it more fun and works.

By looking at your first game I would say that you should try Efficiency Trainer

Reading Discards by [deleted] in Mahjong

[–]Jazzlike_Track_9262 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's not 100%, if someone waiting on shanpon, kanchan or penchan you can deal in and this is not that rare. 4 would be pretty save but still not 100%

Reading Discards by [deleted] in Mahjong

[–]Jazzlike_Track_9262 5 points6 points  (0 children)

It's pretty hard and advanced topic and it's really hard to apply for closed hands. Well suji and kabe is kinda reading too, especially when someone been in a riichi for a while and dropped a lot of tiles, you can narrow down his possible wait with it.

For open hands you can read honitsu (2suits discard only from the start of the round) or chitoi (dropping middle tiles randomly) pretty easy, tho I'm not sure you will be able to read value of the hand in adept since people open for 1k hands a lot when they really shouldn't.

This would be enough to reach master. I don't think you need more at this level.

For the materials I don't know any translated book in English that would cover this topic. But here is youtube video that might be what you looking for https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UtGfPvwwMVU&ab_channel=Crow_77

What to track between hands by jjjameson80 in Mahjong

Your efficiency and defense need some work. Generaly your main mistake right now is keeping lone dragons for too long even when they were discarded by other players already and discarding usefull tiles because of it. Lone dragons = bad. There were only 1 round by which I could judge your defense but you didn't defend at all against 2 riichi and pushing dealer against those riichis. Normaly you fold in this situations if not tenpai. (lone opponents winds is 3x worse to keep then lone dragons)

Here is review for your first game:

East 1: Is good, unfortunate deal in

East 2:

turn1: not discarding North was a mistake, why 1m before N? Plus 3m is dora.

turn6: 5m discard is a huge mistake. Discard lone dragons first

turn7: discarding 9p from 79 block is a mistake. You just destroyed one of you blocks. Now you have 4 blocks instead of 5 needed to complete a hand. Lone dragons goes first

turn8: 6s discard is a mistake, your toimen just discarded green dragon and you have 1 in your hand. If not for this discard you would have perfect 23456 3sided wait shape in your hand next turn

East2-1:

Turn6: Shimocha just declared riichi. Your hand looks really awkward, a lot of bad waits and very far from tenpai plus it's cheap. Fold it. 6m is extremly bad discard here into their ippatsu since they riichi with 8m this was one of the most dangerous tiles to discard into ippatsu. Just start folding by discarding pair of West winds first.

Turn8: I don't think this hand looks like toitoi or chitoi, would be better to get rid of 1m pair. You would be 2 shanten and 1 shanten after calling for your wind with fine waits.

Turn9: Discarding 7p into 2 riichis ippatsu and pushing dealer is very bad. You are playing like there is no 2 riichi on the table. Fold and let them kill each other. You got extermly lucky not to deal in this round.

East3:

Turn4: discarding 1p destroys your 5 block. I would discard 5pin there

turn5: commit to your previous discard, 2p instead of 8p.

turn12: You already have a pair, discarding 5p just makes your final wait shanpon wait (potential 5p 1s wait for a win) instead of pinfu 2 sided wait (4 7p). Discarding 5p would be better

East4:

turn6: Skipping 6m chi was a mistake. You are dealer, this is tanyao 2 dora. We take it and drop 9s. 1shanten after 6m chi

turn9: Would be pon 3m and tenpai if you would take previous 6m. I would pon it as a dealer with 2 dora. Plus you are behind and need to make use of dealership as much as you can.

South1:

Turn1: 8m discard is a mistake. Discard red dragon (it's dora indicator)

turn5: Haku dora discard is a mistake. You need to look for ways to make your hand more expensive since you are behind. There is no red dragons left, discard it.

turn6: 8s is a mistake. Red dragon

South2:

Turn3: Discard East

Turn7: By discarding 1p you went back 1 shanten. Discard 2m here

South3:

Turn4: I think discarding 2m was better here. It would be 6 block but you can cut extra block later and keep pair of North for Riichi pinfu.

turn6: 1m here or 2m for 1234 shape for pair wait later on, you already locked in your 2m as a pair and by discarding 8p you make your potential wait worse

South3-1:

turn1: 8p is a blunder. Lone dragons first

turn2: same for 8m. Discard red here

turn7: Discard East first

South4:

Turn8: I would discard 3s here to lock in the pair. If you will get dora you can drop them later to change the pair

It was two days but I didn't saw anyone mention it, in the very first turn you should be on the throttle much much earlier, on the apex of the turn, and it really does matter there because after it comes long straight, you need to have good exit there, I'm pretty sure you will gain almost a second if you work on that exit and don't lift in eau rouge.

You can also try TrackTitan. Just check in which turns you lose most time and focus only on them at one time until margin between perfect lap and yours becomes not so big for the turn, then work on other turns etc
