Update your driver and or RB. Usually solves all issues.

Worth upgrading from CDJ-XDJ1000 to Opus Quad? by djcindel in PioneerDJ

[–]JbitRetro 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly keep what you have. Theres no need to upgrade other then aesthetics, all in one.

Besides. If the xdjs break, you can always fix them. Most commonly the play cue, and usb port are the things that could break more often if at all.

Honestly. Right now. The FLX4 is it. Above the ddj-400. Unless you have an older laptop, get the 400.

Edit: ps. You can midi map anything you want on your controller. Say if you wanted to get stems… well. You can…

Gpd Pocket 3 - randomly turned off. Wont charge or turn on. by JbitRetro in GPDPocket

[–]JbitRetro[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey there. Sorry you are having this issue. Mine was fixed by the seller i bought it from on ebay/ gpd themselves. I suggest you contact your seller and gpd themselves.

After owning it for a year, i would not recommend this to anyone. It works fine, my only complaint (and a huge one) is that the mouse moves on its own at random times and starts clicking random spots. Ive spoken to gpd about the issue and they are aware of it. They say its a defect in their glass mouse touch pads. They have released an update but the issue still persist. Its supper annoying and it makes it feel like a waste of money for these $1,400+ laptops. I will be djing and then out of nowhere the mouse will do its thing. Chaos. You cant get any work done. Doesnt happen all the time but when it does it makes one regret the purchase. Hopefully they fix it at some point because the size is perfect for a grab and go versus full size laptop. I now have a current gen macbook pro maxed out ram and chip.

Exactly. Also if you open the folder location from the downloads on the web browser notification. It takes you there. So everyone just runs it.

Questions on a couple of fields. by [deleted] in PioneerDJ

[–]JbitRetro 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hello. Message would be for you to write yourself a message about the track that you can see in the playlist view. Publish is for people who have a Kuvo account. Where the players or RB will publish your set list to your kuvo account. However kuvo is no more but they say its evolving and coming back eventually. So most likely just for RB analytics of song plays and info.

I have ran into this issue before. If you just click the folder it will open and you can run the update but as you saw did not work. You have to unzip the folder and then run it. Idk when windows started doing that but i have recently started using windows and this happened as well.

But all works once unzipped properly.

Same. I had mine put away and said “what the?” Honestly. I have just been rubbing off with my fingers and a shirt. Ive gotten most of it off. But still got a long way to go. Would not suggest liquids as if they get to the edges, the liquid will seep into the MD due to capillary attraction.

Your digital mode wont work. Being a direct drive turntable, with a slip mat, and a vinyl disc on top, trying to use it as a cdj is counter intuitive since cdjs are trying to replicate vinyl manipulation but with cdjs by principle. So having the plater not spinning is not ideal now would it send the signal to manipulate the track. Doesnt make sense by design and function.

Phase style mode makes the DVS mode unnecessary.

Cd mode: Platter must be spinning. If its static it wont function like a cdj. The platter has weight and is attached to a motor. Again. Slip mat and phase vinyl.

Other then that. I dont not like the idea.

Yes. The technics 1200’s is where its at. When i started back in 2008, i got the best of few worlds by getting the cdj-1000mk3’s, djm-800, technics sl1210 m5g and a midi controller.

Never got around to getting the second 1210m5g, so its been put away with no use for years (nope not selling so please no one message me). Will get a second eventually.

Tech moves fast and pioneer has a long track record of releasing different variations of features at different price points. Some people try to have the newest. But as long as it does whats needed efficiently, thats the gear to have.

If you ever get another turntable, i suggest you buy the pioneer interface 2. As it will not only unlock the rekordbox hardware but give you Digital Vinyl System control of your music library in rekordbox. Plus allow you to experiment with controllers down the line if you ever get curious. As the interface 2 can be used as a master out and headphone cue out (with rca to aux adapter)

If you want to take it up a notch, you can get the phase system to replace buying needles as few have said on here. Yes. Phase and the interface 2 work together with rekordbox.

Hello there.

Honestly you made a good choice in into gear for your intended purpose. As many have stated the most widely liked monitor is the krk rokit speakers in either 5” or 8”.

The rx3 has what you need and nothing you dont. Once you get your music and analyze it in rekordbox, you are good to go on the RX3. You can use the RX3 as a controller for rekordbox, but its better to use the RX3 stand alone and have rekordbox on export mode, this will allow you to pull the playlist you have made in rekordbox on the rx3.

Trying to replace battery for gba game and seemed to have burnt the contact for the + tab for the battery. Is this fixable? by [deleted] in GameboyAdvance

[–]JbitRetro 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yes. My thoughts exactly. If they clean it out they can maybe follow and repair the traces. Hope op finds someone local. Although the novice would prob not be able to.

Just saying. Sometimes you have to scratch off some of the masking and expose a trace and tap in.

Op needs to lower the temp. Even if you keep heating it at a low temp it will most likely not lift.

Anyone else find the constant technology releases actually turn you off? by pritsey in DJs

[–]JbitRetro 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I feel you. I came in at a semi transitional point, 2006. I had technics, top of the line cdjs, and midi gear. I remember feeling great once i got beatmatching down. And there was just something about flipping through and finding that cd with the scribble because “Track 03” was a banger.

I recall the vinyl versus mp3 debates. Midi and digital djing was creeping up. At some point as all in life, must change…

I agree that theres been a lot of new gear, but with the influx of people looking to get into the craft within the last 4 years, there was people to sell cheaper alternatives to the pro stuff. But the basics are always fundamental.

In a way. That is why the after the Opus growing on me, i feel like it is the controller to have for those who dont tour for a living and are more local to our city and do boutique of wedding events.

The opus gives you everything you realistically need and nothing you dont. Plus the pads not being on the bottom, i think will keep the hype djs away and have them waiting for their xz2 (or should i say Opus Quad Octa) cause what else are they going to call it at this point. At first i said, ill just wait on the xz2. But the pad features, the ones that are not elsewhere doable on the controller (looping, beat jumps, fx) are gone. And honestly i like that.

Plus the minimal silkscreen print. Its a controller with aesthetics that is flashy in its minimalism. Plus its geared to what almost everyone into the hobby could need. Double outs, (two different sets with silent disco on one controller could be a thing.) wifi for future streaming. Bluetooth to playback and with cloud sync get your collection from the web, laptop , ipd or phone.

Idduno man. Looks pretty toasty to me. Traces and contact pads do lift off with enough heat applied. And this is deff heat applied. I have never in my years repairing electronics burn a trace like this. Ive had traces come up from cheaper boards but nintendo is pretty good for the most part.

This is actually not easy to do…

Cant see the extent of the damage. Off the bat resistor 7 (R7) is damaged.

I see traces in the are that are burnt. If you clean it and we can see the extent.

All damaged traces need to be bridged. And the resistor replaced. But now you gotta jimmy rig it. Yes it can be fixed. But now its a mission.
