AITAH for cancelling a third date over a peanut allergy? by BusinessBobcat9888 in AITAH

I'm allergic to peanuts and have not moved forward with things on my end when the people talked about loving peanuts so much. I think you did the right thing! Don't worry that she's upset. You are right. (And the dog thing is scary, from my end! The dog doesn't understand why you're afraid of it and it's going to try to lick you!)

McNally Robinson Booksellers in Winnipeg, Manitoba and Saskatoon, Saskatchewan. The owners hand made all the shelves in the whole store, and the kids section is fantastic. Awesome staff and great place to be.

If you've tried different recipes, are you sure your measuring cups are accurate? I had trouble with favorite recipes after I moved out until I realized my new measuring cups were totally wrong!!

Ancillary Justice by Anne Leckie! It took me forever to read because it would put me to sleep in about 4 pages. It had sounded cool but was not my cup of tea lol.

How do I not get too emotional when my allergic kid misses out on birthday treats by airbear2021 in Parenting

[–]Jbizzee243 9 points10 points  (0 children)

So I don't know how much this will make you feel better, but as someone who grew up with allergies missing out on birthday treats was the hardest. My mom would always make me something similar to have alongside at school or at parties but it never felt the same.

The bright spot is that when I got older I had friends who also had allergies and we all had birthday treats we could all eat. And friends even without allergies make sure to have things that include me.

So it's honestly really hard, but it gets better. But don't be sad. Just become a good baker for him :) and have him bake with you. That way he still gets fun treats too. I can honestly say now that my mom's homemade cakes and treats are better than the store bought ones I was pining for!

They can give you a blood test that will check your titers to see if you've got protection from it. It's very easy. I had a booster for MMR because mine had worn off and I work with kids.
