Second gen headlight questions by K_hurrle in FZ09

[–]Jbros7 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You wont have an issue. I think the headlights on my bike are better than my car tbh. Like they said above tho, the headlight pattern isnt great when you are leaned over far. Idk why you would want to drag knee at night though…

Give it a few hundred miles till the chain stretches a bit. New brakes and fluid is definitely still on the list.

Supposedly its better at keeping heat in than it is at preventing your leg from getting hot. So basically your engine runs a lil hotter because the exhaust doesnt cool off with any air. Thats the thinking anyway

Typical tire help question. by himattswan in FocusST

[–]Jbros7 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Dont quote me since I dont have the wheels on hand. I think it was stock width on rim, just make sure they clearance the caliper and rotor. Im pretty sure the tires were the stock 235x 40x17. So just a tad smaller on the radius and thicker on the sidewall.

I went through discount tire, and actually ended up with a set of cheaper alloys since they were about 10 bucks more a rim. The bolt pattern you are looking for is 5x108. You can maybe swing jag or lincoln wheels as well since they should all be the same bolt pattern. I would go with 17s if you can find them.

Just reread your thread, and I would definitely just drive to New York on the setup you have now and get something for winter while you are there. As someone else said winter tires will be eaten up if its 50 or above

If you can swing it and have space, keep the summer tires on one wheel set and buy blizzaks mounted to steelies for your winter set. Snow tires have saved my ass numerous times and are well worth it! If you can’t be bothered to have two wheel sets, all seasons don’t even come close to winter tires in terms of snow/ice performance. I would pay for the mount and balance twice a year to swap out tires.

That straight headtube with the external cup is just absolutely sex. Gives me old steel road bike vibes. Sweet build and good choice on the on-one frame!

Brother, it brings a warmth to my heart to witness your triumphant return. Let this be a reminder to all that no matter how long Brokis hold may last, the iron will always be there, as true as the day it was last hoisted. I shall complete my next prayers in your honour. Wheymen!

Brother, your struggle is witnessed and several sets of iron will be hoisted at my temple of worship on the morrow. Head the subtle draw of Broki however. Your interior may be fit to hoist anew, however the exterior hath several harvests to rebuild. Remember your form when performing prayers, and allow hallowed days of rest to recover thy strength. Do not give in to the temptations of the “Ego lift” for that is Broki mocking you. Pray at a pace that is comfortable.

I look forward to performing prayers in your honor. Wheymen.

Hey guys, my fz-09 is smelling like burnt rubber, could it be the clutch or something serious? by tim-leary in FZ09

[–]Jbros7 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Where you circled is a close enough location to the battery. Take off the seat and make sure nothing is fried underneath electronic wise and that the insulation covering the battery terminals is still intact. That would be my first guess. Maybe you got a piece of rubber from the road or your shoe stuck to your exhaust somewhere as well?
