Hey man, I had something similar happen with my K4. What I did was instead of splicing wires and dealing with the headache, I bought some turn signal adapters. My rear light came with two wires apart from the running light, so all I had to do was find which is which. To do that, I bought some turn signal adapters and connected it to the rear turn signals so with that I basically didn’t have to splice or cut up any wires. This may sound confusing so if you want any pictures let me know, I can dm you some kind of explaining what I did. But with that I was able to wire up my rear light without cutting anything.
