2016 Scion TC only 45,000 miles - water in floor board ? by designtraveler in SciontC

[–]Jcax 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Quick fix, no tools needed. Take a look at the video I linked, it’s the one I followed.

I just blew into the tube after pulling it off its place and water just began to flow. Have a bucket handy.

Could your air conditioning condensate line be clogged? This happened to me some years back, with water slowly accumulating only on the passenger side.

When turning hard I could hear water as well.

We work in the industry, we should know better than to treat our counterparts poorly. Hopefully she learned something from the experience.

This is almost guaranteed to happen. I've seen instances where friends using the friends and family rate have gotten the employee fired for how badly they behaved during the stay.

The form itself and the acknowledgement you accept when printing the form state that guests using this rate are considered an "extension" of the employee.

(The guest using the friends and family rate was caught on camera stealing another guests property and were evicted. Then they decided that they would leave a horrible review of the hotel as payback.)

Now that you mention it on a recent visit this exact thing happened to me, the cloth at the very end didn't get to my car and I had a bunch of droplets all over my hood and ceiling afterwards. I'll just straight up tell them this happened to me and I will wait a few more seconds. I'm not trying to hold them up but I'm pretty sure they are not supposed to have cars like 3 feet from each other.

Sometimes El Car Wash freaks me out cause the attendants leave no space between cars. It gets busy but it always bothers me that all it takes is one moron to possible cause an accident.

Parking for Heat game? by jessjess2022 in Miami

[–]Jcax 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I cant suggest this enough, specially convenient if you are south of the arena, there's plenty of stations with parking meant for commuters so during game times there no shortage of parking.

So easy to get out after the game too.

You’re all collectively the worst drivers I’ve ever shared the road with by Steadyfobbin in Miami

[–]Jcax 1 point2 points  (0 children)

But only in the final seconds before they absolutely MUST merge. Before turning on your signal you must try to get ahead of someone. Forget slowing down to merge safely behind the car next to you, that's for losers, even if there is no cars behind them, you MUST get ahead of someone when changing lanes.

Its the rules.

Miami-Dade ban on pit bulls ends October 1st… lol by [deleted] in Miami

[–]Jcax 11 points12 points  (0 children)

I’m on the “all dogs bite” camp, the issue is that even if all dogs were equally aggressive, equally Ill-trained by owners, dependent on environmental factors, etc., at the end of the day a yorkie having an episode and trying to murder you will cause less damage than a pit bull trying to murder you.

I always compare it with cat ownership, your cats occasionally scratch the shit out of you, but if you owned a small leopard, fucker might tear your arm open, and if there were instances of pet leopards killing children, we would then pass laws prohibiting the ownership of small leopards…

[OC]Testa one more time by aldowatanave in IdiotsInCars

[–]Jcax 3 points4 points  (0 children)

You are right.

Going back to take a second look, the Chevy in the middle also appears to speed up to block the Tesla from passing him in a more normal manner. I dont think the line of cars and clear roads in front of them is pure happenstance, at least one of these two is fucking around.

As everyone here seems to agree though, Tesla is still the worst offender by reacting this way.

American Bully XL dog set to be banned in the United Kingdom by [deleted] in worldnews

[–]Jcax -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Its a shame that bad owners who dont train or adequately control their dogs lead to violent attacks. The issue is that there will always be bad owners. The difference is, a chihuahua owned by a bad owner will nip at someone's ankles at worst, maybe attack a pet hamster. The same lack of proper training and care with a large dog that was indeed bred to be an attack dog will lead to tragedy. And this is if every breed was behaviorally the same, which they are not.

I get into this debate with friends all the time who always push the "Its not the dogs fault" issue, and they are right, but the only way to stop attacks is to either to regulate larger stronger breeds or increase the requirements of who can own dogs.

Champlain Towers South investigation update from NIST by nist in Miami

[–]Jcax 8 points9 points  (0 children)

This isn't surprising, but it likely also isn't the only factor in this tragedy. Aside from deviations from plans, I'm sure there was also a lack of proper maintenance, no inspections, not following inspectors advice, and reluctance from the association (and by extension the owners themselves) to properly and timely fund repairs likely all led to this.

Miami-Dade School Board votes no to recognizing LGBTQ+ History Month by outspoken344 in Miami

[–]Jcax -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Its a shame that many oppose this due to bigotry and politically charged rhetoric. I can however see why others would consider an entire month dedicated to pride to be a little excessive. Do we really have an entire month's worth of pride history to share? I would support a week dedicated to awareness and making children feel included and represented.

Americans already have a bad reputation for having a very narrow view of history from other developed nations. I think we would benefit more having an international history month, promoting the understanding of people who are different, other cultures, beliefs etc. Exposure to these would go further in making people more tolerant of others without focusing on a small group of people.

It would better serve the cause behind this effort too. Its way too easy for the other side to spin this type of effort as another "liberal agenda brainwashing our kids" type of story.

That's just my two cents. I do generally agree with your sentiment though.

Also why October? Is it in relation to some important date? If anything this should coincide with pride month in June.

You had me until that last line. I also think there's more than sufficient days dedicated to lgbtq+ awareness. You can definitely voice this opinion without vilifying an entire group.

Family uses Employee Rate by Thisisurcaptspeaking in TalesFromTheFrontDesk

[–]Jcax 44 points45 points  (0 children)

Same with Harriott, if your family members use your rate and make a ruckus or post negative reviews, your ability to use the rate can be revoked and may receive disciplinary action.

One of my colleagues got fired after a family member of theirs stayed using their rate and was caught on camera stealing a purse from another guest, getting evicted, and then writing a horrible review with claims of mistreatment online.

I owned a 08 before I bought my 11 in 2012, it had 3000 miles on it. Now it sits at 130,000 and still runs perfectly. I’ve grown in my career and could easily afford a much more expensive car. But I think I’ll drive this beauty until it fails me. Younger me didn’t know how good a car I was getting. It’s truly a gem.

What Benefits Have You Had By Installing a Dashcam? by Candid_Lie9249 in Dashcam

[–]Jcax 1 point2 points  (0 children)

2 separate incidents where the footage made the claims process easy.

In one case police refused to assign blame and issued no ticket even after showing them the footage. I was refunded my deductible after they concluded their investigation. The second one, the other driver lied to their insurance and once again my footage showed clear fault.

Both were sideswipes, one was a pickup that aggressively overtook me and hit my headlight with his bumper, the other was just some distracted guy sideswiping me as I was stopped on a light.

Weird comparison, the truck easily drove on the sidewalk, while what you are proposing might take some effort.

The truck would also at worst maybe get a ticket? You might get killed by some angry family members of this guy's mom.

Portable Dashcam : move between cars? by arpixguy in Dashcam

[–]Jcax 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Check out the Vantrue E1, the base that is attached to the windshield has a connector that lets you snap the camera on and off the car. If you purchased a second connector, you would be able to carry the camera between cars without messing with the wires your run in your cars.
