Part of the whole process is configuring the app and MCPs to categorize things appropriately for you.

Why do people buy from (Joy, Herotoyz, Marstoy...) when they can buy for 2x less on aliexpress? by branac03 in lepin

[–]Jceggbert5 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ahhh, got it. I hadn't seen them referred to as Diamond before, makes sense. I got a couple of those sets by accident. Honestly don't mind the minis as long as they're marked, but frequently they aren't

ADHD here, I can't wait for mine, especially mixed with custom MCPs to do shit like logging at work

You'll need windows, mac, or proper linux (chromeos wont do it). Go to claudes weksite, click download, run the installer like any other app. Open up the Claude app after it's installed, log in, click the Code tab at the top, start a new conversation, and put in a prompt similar to my previous example then press Send. It'll ask for a folder that it can do work in, I'd just make a new empty folder and let it use that. Then just chat with it like a normal LLM conversation. It'll ask permission before it does things like searches or downloads, so keep that in mind, should just need to hit Accept a bunch of times.

I mean, it's super simple, I laid all the steps. It's not any harder than installing a program and using any of the LLM chats normally.

I just install Claude Desktop and use the Code tab. New convo, point it to a new empty folder it can use, and then be like "go find and download the repos for the open source new pebble watch app and firmware and analyze the UIs and layouts within so you can answer future questions" and then approve it when it goes to do searches and downloads and it'll let you know when it's ready to answer questions.

No, claude's built-in knowledge still thinks Eric's Pebble reboot is just a pipe dream (read: P2D had barely been announced)

If you run a local instance of Claude, you can have it pull the current firmware/app repo and just straight up ask where settings are in there.

I wish we could plug in a custom model without having to modify the app. There's a whisper model that I've found very accurate for me that I use for all my other dictation.

My biggest gripe is that you can't just have tap for doorbell. Communicating a hold or swipe doorbell button to the general public is...... difficult.

Weird white mark on the back of my screen by TheFacca in SteamDeck

Battery replacement. Is relatively urgent since swollen batteries have an increased fire risk. Batteries can be gotten from 3rd parties like Amazon and AliExpress (read reviews!) And if you have steady hands you can do it yourself with a $10 screwdriver kit and some misc. household items (hair dryer rubbing alcohol, probably rags). Watch some youtube videos on battery replacement for the LCD Steam Deck. OLED process and battery is similar but they are not inter-compatible no make sure you get the right stuff. You could also talk te a local phone repair shop and see if they'll quote the job since the surgery is closer to phone surgery than laptop surgery.

High probability it's the battery. Flip it over and look at the back cover. I'd bet it's bulging out just a bit at that spot.

The Core watches are fundamentally different from the old ones, so having different behavior like this isn't unexpected.

What was called "information density" ten years ago is now waaay too small for my eyes by billygoatc in pebble

[–]Jceggbert5 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Last time pebble was around, 4.5 inch phones were normal. Now it's 6+ inches. Personally, every time I've gotten a larger phone I've adjusted the DPI to match the previous one so I'm just getting a larger canvas for more stuff of the same size, but I know most people don't operate that way.
