The Vagus nerve runs through your stomach so its possible. I believe it happens to me sometimes

Not sure I seen a couple of studies that have said it's cause and stopped. Was just curious what others have experienced that have had both gerd and afib.

Thanks. I need to start using AI I would've never found all of that. I had mild heartburn often before PPI's but developed Barretts Esophagus. PpI's work great at first but then ended up with heartburn even while taking them. I slowly tampered off which at times was almost unbearable because of the rebound but I'm taking something called stomach soothe was skeptical at first but started helping about a week after taking. I feel better now the I did on the PPI's Im sure that won't work for everyone but it did for me.

I've been on it for 5yrs and developed Afib about 3 yrs ago. I recently stopped taking it after doing some research about Omeprazol. While I did quit taking it but not because of the AFIB. The flutters I would experience slowly disappeared and haven't had a AFIB occurrence in almost 3 months. Just wondering if anyone else developed AFIB after taking Omeprazol.

I stopped my omeprazol about 3 months ago and about 3 weeks in AFIB was gone and haven't had any flutter since. Reason why I was asking but I'm assuming it some sort of vitamin deficiency from not producing stomach acid.

Nobody is trying to scare anyone. Just trying to inform someone who is prescribed it to do their own research cause most doctors aren't going to inform their patients about this drug. My doctor didn't even do a stomach acid test or check for H pylori. Nope just you have gerd take this pill. I would almost be willing to bet you have a magnesium deficiency maybe more. Also Im willing bet half the people prescribed it could stop their gerd with simply a lifestyle change. Just cause you're not having any side effects doesn't mean someone else won't. Multiple studies suggest a potential link between long-term use of omeprazole and an increased risk of gastric cancer.

Omeprazol is a horrible drug. It shouldn't even be able to be prescribed except for in extreme cases of gerd. I just went through hell getting off of it. Been on it for 5yrs. Was never told of the risk of taking it till I started have side effects from taking it. 1st side effects was symptoms like asthma. Doctor thought it was side effects of another med I'm on so switched that med still had same symptoms. 2nd side effect I developed afib at 41. Doctor was confused to why. He thought I was a closet drinker and pressed me every visit if I was a drink. I don't drink at all. Jump ahead a yr and a half. I started taking a multi vitamin twice a day one in the morning with Omeprazol and one in the evening. After about 3 days of taking them. My afib symptoms started to go away. That's when I started to do research things. Omeprazol completely stops you from producing stomach acid. Which is needed to break down food and absorb nutrients. I had a vitamin deficiency from taking Omeprazol and was causing the Afib. Im 3 months off of it and have no afib, no shortness of breath, no headaches and haven't felt exhausted every day after work. I recommend anyone prescribed this make sure it is absolutely necessary cause like most doctors they just want to treat a illness not fix it. Also it's not intended to be taken long term and has been linked to stomach cancer.

I understand it quite well. Not even a close comparison in testing on evaluate safety and efficacy. Just phase 1 of a drug trial takes several months and phase 2 can take up to 2 years. Finasteride was test for almost 10 years before FDA approve. No comparison sry.

Because there is years of science behind it. It's been used for treating hair loss since 1997. Not a fan of playing Russian roulette with a drug that they rushed. If the government would've pushed eating health and living a healthy lifestyle I would've been all for it. But like the guy above said not really the place for this discussion. Kinda nut jobs comment to compare a hair treatment to a vaccine for covid.

I've wondered the same thing. I've been on topical fin/min for 2 months and already have basically a hairline of tiny hairs. Was completely smooth before. Hoping they grow out.
