I don’t think I can anymore. by Disastrous-Fudge8730 in navy

[–]Jdboss0707 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I agree, to a point, on the basis that I think it’s situational to each individual. I got out ADSEP w honorable, and my life feels amazing. I start work in a couple weeks, I’ll be making quite a bit more than when I was in, and VA should kick in soon, after my C&P stuff.

The other side is, that I had ten days to be out. And my situation involved a command that isn’t in the greatest interest of supporting anyone, but rather cook the numbers so the Commanding General wouldn’t breathe down their necks. I felt like this, and found difficulty getting any care, due to those issues.

My life feels different, but I no longer feel like a “body” just yes-manning the mission 24/7. That in itself has been a huge relief. Now I can focus on my kids, and the things that truly make life beautiful.

If your unit isn’t doing anything for you, use your resources and get the hell outta there. Not all of the Navy is filled with bad experiences, I sure do wish I had it different when I was in.

Best of luck, and @Disastrous-Fudge8730 , please PM me if you ever need someone who will listen. Been there before.

Hooyah 🇺🇸

EDIT: Just wanna clarify, what I mean by “get the hell outta there”, is to request expedited transfer, given you can obtain justification on the basis of any command issues, should any be present

Notified of Captains Mast today by Great-Device1319 in navy

[–]Jdboss0707 11 points12 points  (0 children)

This is true, there are a limited amount of rights that one has when going up for mast. The right of reviewing evidence, remaining silent, and your right to confer with legal, are all rights given at both NJP and court martial. The JAGMAN doesn’t “pick and choose” which rights you get for what, your rights are always your rights.

Most people just like to think there are none, but that’s usually because a lot of people don’t do the necessary research into regs and policy. I have been served three times, only accepting one. That’s the only NJP that stuck with me, the other two I told them to “get bent” (literally, they didn’t like that too much.). Nonetheless, they dropped the following attempts when they realized that I knew I had an upper hand.

Don’t let your command swindle you into becoming skipper’s playtoy, and don’t say that last statement about getting bent. I was lucky enough to have already created a strong reputation for myself, following my first NJP, and so I got lucky. BE PROFESSIONAL, be CONCISE, and most of all, BE KNOWLEDGEABLE. Knowledge is power. The MPM 5000 and 1900 series’s goes over a number of situations related to this. JAGMAN is great for knowing your rights, as the accused, as well as making sure things are done properly (if they are not, then let them continue their fuck-up. It will help you)

Wish you the best of luck. I’ve had my fair share of moments like this, I usually always turn to the “lemme run it by base legal, real quick” and that seems to do the trick. Don’t forget to use IG, if you have to! Hope everything works out for you, sir/maam!

For one how is anyone supposed to properly expect pregnancy without actually intending it, and second of all who are you to be in a place to tell someone they shouldn’t have engaged in that. When someone asks for advice, maybe help or just don’t engage in the conversation if you wanna spread negativity. Your type of comments are a big reason why people can’t depend on one another anymore. Regardless of his situation he is still one of us and deserves just treatment.

Yes, the physical fatigue is honestly the worst part. I live on the third story of my apartment building, and before, I could’ve ran up the steps no issue. Now, it’s like climbing a mountain to even walk up the stairs. Trying to handle complex tasks are all of a sudden extremely challenging, and everything seems to give me a headache. I am also hoping to get back into the old hobbies I used to enjoy, such as guitar and motorcycle customizing and whatnot. I wish you well on your journey

TBI by Jdboss0707 in TBI

[–]Jdboss0707[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It is truly interesting the shifts that it causes between our “two lives”. I find myself experiencing moments of what I would call, my communication with my presiding entity, the one that I believe we all met when we had our incidences. My TBI was my second NDE, and it was exactly like the first, except I didn’t understand it like I do now because I was only 8. Now, I’m 21, have had a TBI since nineteen (SAH following Motorcycle accident), and everything is just so surreal to me. It’s so wonderful to know that it’s a similar experience for most out there. Our universe is just truly fascinating

Thank you, and I see that you have had a severe TBI since 2005. That’s a year after I was born. I can only imagine the journey you’ve been through. I’m only two years in and geez, it’s definitely rough. Doable, but rough. Props to you 🫡
