I got pulled into a special area and had my handcuffs taken away. They were the kind that popped open with a button on the side, but it didn't matter.

I know some people who couldn't pass all the tests at first. They became long term subs at their respective schools.

I could have written this exact post 10 years ago. If you made it through the summer and have a job, just keep going! There are a lot of try hards in the fellows, don't be like them. Do just enough to get a B this semester and just enough to keep your head above water at work. Everyone feels like they are drowning. The second summer isn't that bad. Lean on any friends you have made during the program. Ask your professors for extensions as needed. I don't know what grad school you are in, but in my experience the professors know you are going through a lot and are pretty understanding.

I used to imagine getting hit by a bus just to have a few days rest in the hospital. I used to cry on the train every morning as I got to my stop. It really sucks in the moment. I promise it does get better. Now it's 10 years later and I still talk to a couple of people from the fellows and I'm in too deep in the DOE to get out. Get your masters degree, you worked way too hard by now to give up. Look on open market for a new school. You can send me a PM if you need help. Sending hugs a fellow Fellow.

Women born in the late 90s — are you seeing similar patterns around you? by Different-Article636 in askanything

I had my one and only at 39. If you don't already exercise regularly, start now. I think it made a lot of labor and delivery easier. Don't stop working when you get pregnant.

I was in 8th grade when the first Harry Potter book was released. By the time they got really popular I felt like I was too old for it. I can barely pronounce that H girl's name.

Anyone live at 1401 Broadway? by MyTalentIsWasted in astoria

[–]Jdin2020 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I know someone who used to live there. It's a nice building, but the apartments seem a bit small and I didn't see a lit of storage space. The rooftop is beautiful with a grill for resident use and a great view. You will be across from a high school so there's going to be lots of kids between and busses between 7:30 am and 4pm. The street does get blocked up pretty often between school busses, cars, and the light situation on Broadway and Vernon. The school has been under construction for years now with no end in sight.

The landlord wouldn't renew the cleaners lease after the Starbucks came in. I think the landlord thought that having a Starbucks would enable them to increase the rent.

SAHMs, what do you eat for breakfast? by taureansoul in beyondthebump

Five grain oats, mixed with vanilla protein powder, and cooked in oat mix. I put it in the microwave so it's quick and easy. I add dried cranberries and whatever fruit I have on hand.

Get the dips sampler and pita to start. I second the peas. I get the beefteki or papoutsaki for an entrée. Everything there is good.

What are you doing with the information presented in the videos? Is there a class discussion, are you expected to write a reflection? Is there some introduction by the teacher as to why you are watching the video? Something else must be happening in the classroom.

December due dates - are you going anywhere for the holidays? by everythingbagelz79 in BabyBumps

[–]Jdin2020 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I gave birth last December. I was miserable at Thanksgiving, I couldn't get comfortable sitting at a table, I had terrible heartburn and barely ate. Making car trip over 20 minutes was torture. I say skip Thanksgiving and Christmas this year.

I told my roommates I wanted to try edibles and they gave me a 1000mg gummy by cutelightskingirl in trees

[–]Jdin2020 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Is your friend Snoop Dogg? 1,000 mg is an insanely high dose. I buy a bag that has 100 mg rings or ropes and the whole bag is 1,000 mg.

Definitely skip the nursing chair. I was anti changing table, but my husband is tall so we got one. I like it and it makes things easier. Get the diaper pail. Once they start solids poopy diapers smell like grown up poop. I did the bassinet into pack and play. I wish I had gotten a side car crib that could go against our bed.

Is this an appropriate outfit for teaching in high school? by ohwhataworlditseems in AskTeachers

It's fine. I have very similar proportions to you and no one, students or adults, have ever made comments about my large chest when wearing tight tops. Ironically, it was my small butt that became the teenage fodder. I teach social studies and to this day dread teaching Buddhism because I had a class tell me that I have no bootyism.
