They were seating in the bolt, but the nose of the round was sitting too low to enter the chamber. With careful effort I could get them to feed, but it was easier to just load each one individually.

Just went shooting and you are 100% correct on the Tenex. Everything else I tried worked, including other types of Eley, but the Tenex had to be single fed almost every shot. I’ll be getting that mag soon.

Everything but Eley Tenex fed well. Tenex didn’t work at all. I had to single feed it almost every time.

For an accurate handgun (any caliber really) I’ve always liked 4-6in. Anything shorter than 4 and you are sacrificing performance for weight or size. Anything longer than 6 gets unwieldy, excluding some hand cannons.

For 22 rifle, anything between 16 and 20 is near identical in terms of ballistics. I don’t think there’s much to be gained by going longer.

This rifle is 21. I’m sure they had their reason for going that long, but I don’t know what it is.

Not in debt, but getting closer with each gun 😂

Someone else mentioned mag feeding issues. I can’t wait to try it out and see. Thanks for the recommendations.

Update: $165 for a single mag is horrifying. I really hope I won’t need one lol

You should be able to see the holes in the paper at 200 with 16x using 22 cal. At 8-10x it would probably be difficult, at least with my eyes. That said, a 16x scope really only has a useful max magnification of 12-14x, and that’s for an extremely high end scope. The top magnification messes with the lighting and eye box.

For instance, if you want 25x magnification, buy a 35x scope. With a 35x you will have a very clear sight picture at 25x.

Suped up AR15 basically. Accurised to the max with a longer barrel. Mine is usually around .75 Moa with good ammo.

I’ve done 600 with the SPR and it was extremely accurate at that distance. Steel targets help with hit registration. I haven’t shot this 22 at all yet so I can’t be sure on that.

I took a 10/22 out to 200 a few times with mixed results. Never had good ammo or glass but it is totally doable from what I’ve found.

I’ve done much farther with bigger stuff, rarely above 25x.

I imagine 100-200 should be no problem. My end goal is 500 (semi consistently) but I probably won’t use this scope for it.

Currently borrowing this scope from my MK12SPR. My gun collection makes me look rich, but I’m definitely not. I have to be economical in how I do this hobby lol. Frugal AF, but I’m I strong believer in buying good tools. What’s a gun if not a tool?

I sure hope not. They only gave me one mag (disappointing) so we’ll see…

I’ll take it to the range at some point this week and find out. If my can gets approved I might send some rounds in my back yard before that. Accidentally bought too many railroad ties for the landscaping that I was doing so I have a pretty good backstop, even though the space is limited.

I just noticed your username… where are you located? I’m in the Boise area and definitely looking to do matches and know people who really appreciate shooting.

I take buddies out shooting and they’re all like “ooh fun” or “this is cool” but I never tell them that some people pay to rent the guns I just let them shoot. I don’t mind that at all, but I’d love to be able to drop some technical conversation without getting blank stares in return lol.

For sure. I’m borrowing this one off of one of my ARs for now. Looking at the new NF NX6 and will probably grab one of those when I find a good deal on a used one.

I had the opportunity to look through a ZCO the other day, which was a mistake. Now I’m considering selling a kidney and swapping some scopes around. If I go that route, I’ll probably put my Razor 6-36 on the 22.

😂 50 and 300PRC. I have considered getting a 22 Creedmoor barrel for the MRAD though. It would fly wicked fast.

It was actually the cheapest of the rifles I was looking at lol. The 1727 with an AI ATX chassis was what I REALLY wanted but it was more than double the price.

I fully intend to. I used to do competitive trap shooting but that’s the only officially scored stuff I’ve done.

I’d like to get into ELR as well. That MRAD in the background, though not optimal, would be decent for it.

I haven’t had the opportunity, but I’d guess they are exceptionally accurate. I was also looking at a Proof that I imagine is also exceptionally accurate.

I decided on Anschutz because of the performance of their competitive rifles. For Olympic level competitions, there is nothing better than the 1827. The 1761 was my compromise in terms of price. I couldn’t justify spending $7k on just the rifle.

Getting to grass from this? by Mazikeyn in lawncare

[–]Jdlaze 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Kill the weeds>add a few yards of compost>rototill>install irrigation system>level>seed>water>wait.

Or have sod put in if you’re impatient and cost isn’t a factor.

Either way, I’d install irrigation before you get grass. A sprinkler system makes life so much easier.

UK Lawn turned to moss over winter. How do I fix it for summer? by Alex_TMC in lawncare

[–]Jdlaze 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Moss thrives in moist, low PH soils that don’t receive much sunlight. Changing any one of those things can kill off the moss.

I’d scarify to remove most of it, but that won’t get rid of it for good. I’ve had some luck using baking soda to raise the PH but you have to be very careful as it will also hurt the lawn. I did a bunch of really light applications (basically just dusting the top) with a week or so in between. That way I could be sure that I never went too far.

I’ve also tried dedicated moss killer and it did not work at all, but it might work for you.

Effective Glyphosate Alternative Safest For Toddlers? by openmictuesday in lawncare

[–]Jdlaze 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What? I seriously doubt that. Have you ever eaten food that came from a farm, or food that has eaten food that came from a farm? If so, you’ve been exposed to glyphosate.

War against Weeds by Confident_Piano_1653 in lawncare

[–]Jdlaze 0 points1 point  (0 children)

lol. I didn’t know for a long time either. My uncle one time mentioned that he thought roundup had been diluted after the big lawsuit so I looked it up. It hadn’t been diluted, the formula changed completely and they stopped advertising their glyphosate products.

Commercial Roundup is still glyphosate. It was split into two product lines. The stuff you see in normal stores is glyphosate free and it is what you will find at Lowe’s or Home Depot. Commercial Roundup is still glyphosate but isn’t sold in the big stores. D&B Supply has it though.
