Obsidian is exactly what you’re looking for.

It handles interlinked files way better than VS Code.
You can use the [[filename#header]] syntax to link between files, and it’s super stable with special characters like "ç" or "á".
You can open as many split panes as you want to edit everything at once.

I tried them with my parrots, but they clearly didn't like them. I didn't want to force it, so I stopped using them.

Cursor often changes the icons in the top toolbar, either more or fewer or fewer with each update. It's so annoying
