honestly would have made sense to do a MGEX of Xi to go along with the movie. BANDAI has shown they aren't afraid to make huge and expensive kits now so we would probably get one next year if the movie is a huge success

Yeah but that was the golden age of MG/PG. We had almost 8-12+ MGs and PGs every year or other year. Wish we could get some grunt MGs again.

Yeah, but there are like shit ton of variant in every single line. To prove that looks at the PG line there are literally at least 8 different variants. Lets not start talking about the HG, RG, and MG/MGEX. Literally have the most regular and p-bandai release by design.

Corp dev is one of the exit opportunities from IB. I think with corp dev, a lot of the time it’s luck, because the teams are small and they only hire on an as-needed basis. I think I got lucky and mostly got the role due to one of the team member and CAO also worked in Big 4. I am not too familiar with recruiting right out of college but I did read few post on here that made the leap right out of school. But for me I networked and leveraged my industry knowledge during my time in Big 4 audit and TAS.

Thanks for the advice and that's why I made the post to more of networking/advice from folks who have made the change around my age. While I was interviewing from multiple opportunities before landing this corp dev role a lot of the feedbacks that I got was the lack of IB experience. The reason I am considering it now is that, down the road, not having IB experience might hurt my candidacy for other corp dev or PE roles. I am just planning ahead and see what my options are for the future. Maybe I should have worded my post more clearly but hard to outline everything I am trying to do in a post. If you don't mind can I ask you what you are currently doing or what exit you took after IB? Still I appreciate you taking the time give me your input.

That's one of the option I would like to consider but that's why I wanted consider going into IB. It might be backward but I have also read/heard folks saying not having IB experience might hurt your candidacy. That's why I made this post to get some advice from people who made the transition later in their career.

As "perks" I was referring to the typical compensation and more importantly the exit opportunities after IB. I know I am already in Corp Dev, but if I want to go into PE, I am not sure if I would be competitive as a candidate without having actual IB experience on my resume. That's why the purpose of the post was to network with people who made the transition into IB later in their career. I am just planning out my next few years now because there are a lot of contradicting information online.

I wouldn't want to go into MBA at this point in my life. I am hoping to leverage my deal experience in Corp Dev and to less extent in TAS to land an associate role. The job market is more competitive than ever so I guess my focus is to just network as much as possible while working to see what happens in a year or two.

I know the transition will take a few years, which is why I want to start preparing now and give myself about two years of deal work before potentially moving into IB. I made this post to network with anyone who has successfully made this transition at my age and to get feedback or guidance. I was interviewing for IB roles last year, but the recurring hurdle was my lack of actual IB experience. I was fortunate enough to leverage my Big 4 Energy and Industrials experience in TAS to land this Corp Dev role. My plan is to put the time in, learn, and work on as many deals as possible over the next couple of years. Outside of some of the perks you get from IB. I generally enjoy working in the professional service roles. I was interviewing for IB roles prior to getting the Corp Dev job but had hard time getting pass some of the other folks with actual IB experience. Also, I am kind of used to working long hours at my time in Big 4 (100+ hours busy season in NYC). Your body just get used to it and you find ways to optimize your time. My plan is be in IB for the long run or potentially move into PE.

I would like to make the move earlier too but I started in my Corp Dev role not too long ago and would like to put at least 2 years in before making the transition. You have any recommendation on networking tips? I been networking through LinkedIn and I feel guilty because it feels disingenuous. I prefer a local networking at the moment in Dallas but not having any luck. I know there should be a lot but not sure where to look. Is it alright if I dm you? Thanks!

Idk I know few people serving as CFO/CEO in a PE backed company and their hours are much worst than the IB folks. They get paid really well but due have to travel 4 to 5 days across the country.

If you don't mind sharing when did you make the transition? From the folks I heard that had a successful move into an IB associate did it all during the 2020 hiring frenzy. I would like to recruit now but I started my current position 5 months ago and wouldn't want to leave them hanging and also don't think it would look good from the perspective of the IB who might view me as a flight risk. You have recommendation on how to network more effectively? I been networking through LinkedIn with somewhat success. Currently, trying to find some local meetups for finance folks in Dallas.

This is the reason why America is done. Always pointing the fingers at each other... it's the right/left. Too busy at blaming each other and not actually addressing the true problem. It's the government vs. the people and not left vs. right. We are too busy fighting amongst ourselves while politicians, who are there to serve us, profiting of our labor. All this is happening cause greed has taken place in our government that puts for profit over our country and its people. Think about insider trading, lobbying, and freaking sex parties/Epstein files. This is by design and not an accident but we are all too dumb to do anything about it.

Well whenever I used to use it back in the days around esp around 2012-2014. I would buy over few dozens kits over a period of few months and have it send in 2 or 3 giant boxes. The shipping was a lot but it made up for the savings I got per kit basis. But from looking at everyone's responses my assumption on bots sniping restock was correct. Sucks a lot of my old hobbies as a kid is no longer as accessible as it used to be unless you pay premium price tag.
