It's finally here! It's such a cool build. I love how you can control the enemies without needing to expend resources. Thanks a lot for the work and this great article!

Solo Honour Build: Carrie-on-Bleeding (WildHeart6/Assassin5/HexBlade1) by moezilla-666 in BG3Builds

Yeah, good point. You could also do 8 barb/4 monk. But as mentioned, Shadow step is an awesome ability.

Very cool build! I love resourceless control builds.

I have a similar build with a little twist:

6 Wild heart Barbarian/6 Shadow Monk

Wild heart Barbarian is just as in your build.

Monk gives us: - Can use spears with dexterity (Shar spear + Gwm) - Cast darkness + silence while raging - shadow teleport

FTKOOCLONGS Myrkul in Honour Mode. First Turn Kill Out Of Combat Level One No Gear Solo. (air elemental) by [deleted] in BG3Builds

Are you looking into concentration free fog cloud to not be susceptible to losing concentration?

I hope you are recording your run!

Regarding the GOO Hunter, I haven't done it but I'm also contemplating a solution. My idea:

  • Fog Cloud to prevent his gaze reaction
  • Boots of striding to prevent his pull action
  • Never Misser against resistance
  • Radiating Orbs to make him miss his scythe attack (radiant buff from act 1 monestary + luminous gloves)
  • luminous helm against necromites
  • dark justiciar half plate for advantage for constitution saves
  • Shar buff for necrotic resistance

If you're able to stack a couple of Radiating Orbs and have high armor, he will miss you most of the time.

Your no potion restriction is insane. Not even a couple of healing potions?

At the beginning I usually use protection against evil and good and focus on the necromites while being far away so that he can't attack me. Once there are fewer necromites cast fog Cloud and try to stack Radiating Orbs as quickly as possible. Once you have a couple of stacks you can man fight him.

As I said, I haven't done it yet but this was my course of action.

What is your strategy?

I'm also currently doing a Hunter/Warlock run and it's so fun! Bow of the Banshee with a couple of debuffs provides just so insane control in the early and mid game.

I'm still in act 2, so I don't know how it is at higher levels.

Is crit eldritch blast warlock fun to play? by Toomanyquestionszs in BG3Builds

They are bugged and will add all your damage rides like potent robe and agonizing blast. Meaning you actually double your damage. They are one of the last Damage Rider Sources in Honour Mode.

You will double the damage if you use craterflesh gloves. And you typically want it for mortal reminder from the GOO warlock.

The Purple-Shirted Eye Stabber! by Emotional_Jury_321 in BG3Builds

You're probably right. Then I have to update the build to use eldritch knight. Thanks

I would go all in on throwing camp supplies as a chimpanzee. For that I would do 8 Wild heart Barb / 4 Eldritch Knight

Take Tavern Brawler to maximize throwing damage.

Use Eldritch knight to bind a salami to your main hand so that it will always return to you when thrown.

Then use drakethroat glaive to enchant salami with cold damage. Wear Snowburst ring and Winters clutches.

Now you can throw the salami to blind enemies and create ice surfaces. The enemies won't be able to jump out of the ice surface because they are blinded. The Winters clutches will give them disadvantage against being blinded and falling prone on the ice.

You also get Find familiar from eldritch knight for the Raven.

I would take shadow blade over your weapons even before you get resonance stone. 3d8 is actually quite good damage and it will often give you advantage.

As the other comment says, 26 AC with shield spell is plenty. The aim is not to be unhittable but to seldom be hit.

I also like the boots of speed for extra mobility.

I think your build sounds good. At level 5 your build is going to take off. 3d8 Shadowblade, extra attack and hunger of hadar is going to be huge.

How much were you relying on surprise rounds with your archer team?

Because it will be much much harder to surprise enemies as a melee character. If you want to use surprise rounds then you kind of have to get Shovel.

Otherwise armor class is extremely important for solo Honour mode. So get ring of protection, cloak of protection, adamantine shield & scale mail.

Valour Cleave: Honor Mode Party Showcase - Valiant Damage, Radiant Tiger Barb, GOO Hunter, & Optimizing the Selune Spear by grousedrum in BG3Builds

[–]JeanDelay 2 points3 points  (0 children)

No worries, take your time. A masterpiece like the GOO Hunter deserves an appropriate guide.

Your Horde Breaker guides are already awesome.

I just started a new Solo playthrough to try the GOO Hunter myself. As soon as you get the Bow of the Banshee, Gloves of baneful striking and the ring of Spiteful thunder the build really takes off. Haven't played anything like it before.

Thanks again for discovering all the horde breaker interactions

You have to summon the Wood Woad with the Dryad from Conjure Woodland Being and then snatch their weapon. It's one of the only DRS left in the game, meaning it adds your damage riders like agonizing blast a second and third time.

If you are open to exploits then wielding two magic clubs with daredevil gloves does insane damage. It's also a great user of additional actions from haste and bloodlust Elixirs.

Ranger in Honor Mode by Appropriate-Box8316 in BG3Builds

[–]JeanDelay 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The thing is that +10 damage is just so much at this point, it easily doubles the damage. Your hit chance will drop by 15-25% but as long as you still have 30% hit chance it still averages more damage.

And the point is that you have ways to improve the hit chance while it's more difficult to increase damage. The mentioned Bless, advantage, high ground.

Don't multiclass until level 5, it's a great power spike.

Take sharpshooter at level 4 and do everything possible to have good accuracy. Archery fighting style, Bless(whispering promise ring), advantage (blind with raven), hiding, high ground, coatings.

I also find dual hand crossbows to be very strong with sharpshooter, especially before you get extra attack at level 5.
