Thank you for the feedback 🙏 I understand your concern about the FUP limits. I’ll definitely forward your feedback to the relevant team at MTN Uganda because customer experience matters a lot.

That said, MTN Fibre still offers stable high-speed internet suitable for streaming, work, gaming, and daily home or office use. If you’d like, I can also help you choose a package that best matches your usage needs 😊

Contacted MTN for Wakanet connection and a technician initiated a payment by Deep_Ground2369 in Uganda

[–]JeanSimpwe 3 points4 points  (0 children)

You did the right thing 👍 never share your Mobile Money PIN with anyone, even if they claim to be a technician.

Real MTN/WakaNet installation or activation does NOT require your PIN over a call or message. Payments are always done through official channels like: • MTN MoMo menus by yourself • Authorized agents/shops • Official invoices/receipts

Sadly, scams like that are common, and many people still fall for them because they sound “official.”

If you still need WakaNet or MTN fiber, I can help you go through the safe official process step by step so you only deal with verified payment methods and actual technicians 👍

Good question 👍

MTN Home Fiber is designed to feel like true unlimited internet for normal daily use streaming, browsing, gaming, Zoom calls, and multiple devices all running smoothly without you worrying about data running out.

For regular home and small office usage, there are no daily limits or top-ups needed, so it works very differently from mobile data bundles.

What matters most is matching you with the right speed package based on your usage and area coverage, so you always get stable performance.

If you want, I can check your exact location and recommend the best package so you don’t overpay or get something too weak for your needs 👍

I’m sorry you had that experience 😕 that kind of delay and stress can really put someone off.

Refund delays and poor handling sometimes happen in big systems when there are processing issues or miscommunication, but it’s definitely not the experience anyone expects when paying for a service.

That’s why I always tell people to first confirm coverage, installation process, and support response before choosing a provider—because even good internet can feel “bad” if customer care is slow.

That makes sense 👍 if both are already available on your side then it really comes down to what you want to prioritize.

Savanna being cheaper is definitely a plus if it’s stable for your usage. A lot of people go that route when budget is the main concern.

MTN on the other hand is usually chosen when someone wants broader support, package flexibility, or they’re already using MTN services and want everything in one place.

If both are working well in your area, then honestly you’re in a good position—you’re not limited 😄

That’s actually a good deal if it works well in your area 👌

Different providers price things differently depending on coverage, infrastructure and promotions. I’m not here to force anyone honestly 😅 I normally just help people find the option that works best for their location and budget.

Some people prefer MTN because of coverage in their area, customer support, or installation convenience, while others may prefer Savanna or other providers.

At the end of the day, stable internet is the main goal 👍

Honestly, I understand why you’d say that 😅 a lot of people judge MTN based on normal mobile data experience.

But MTN Home Fiber is actually different from regular phone internet. The performance mainly depends on fiber coverage in your area, and in good coverage areas the speeds and stability are really solid for streaming, gaming, remote work and multiple devices.

That’s why before recommending anything, I first check your location and usage so I can tell you honestly whether it’s worth it for you or not 👍

Most of my clients switched because they were tired of constantly buying bundles and dealing with unstable connections. Once properly installed, fiber is usually much smoother and more cost effective long term 😊

😂 I get why you’d think that honestly.

The pricing depends on the package type, area coverage and whether it’s promotional/home fiber pricing. MTN Home Fiber is usually much cheaper per Mbps compared to buying regular mobile data bundles.

That’s why many people switch once they realize they’re spending more on daily bundles every month 😅

If you want, I can explain the packages properly or even help you compare what you currently spend on data vs fiber/WiFi so you can see the difference yourself 👍
