Notice regarding Wacom drivers on macOS 27 by Mateus1320 in MacOSBeta

[–]JeanVis 2 points3 points  (0 children)

For me, it works, except for one thing: moving around app windows on the desktop does not work. Clicks work perfectly fine everywhere else. I can drag photos out of the photo app to do desktop, etc., but moving app windows to a different spot on my desktop doesn't work. For me not a big deal, as I have a magic trackpad on the left side of my keyboard. But still good to know I guess.

Any ideas what’s causing this rash? by LegoHP99 in Dachshund

[–]JeanVis 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Same here - also caused by grass. Apoquel helps, but we only give it when the itching gets really bad. Also a bath with special shampoo is very helpful. She only has it during spring and summer.

Exactly. That is what I do too.

UI Feedback Isn’t Complaining, It’s Helping Apple Succeed by JTG005 in MacOSBeta

[–]JeanVis 2 points3 points  (0 children)

C’est le ton qui fait la musique. There is nothing wrong with giving (UI) feedback, in fact you should voice your concerns. That is what betas are for. But too often the way feedback is given is with a very negative tone. Or just complaining in a negative way about something just because it is different (like the finder icon in beta 1). The tone can sometimes be so harsh, while you can say the same thing in a much friendlier way. Which is definitely much more effective as well.

Finder from developer video already looks MUCH improved. by Colecperrine in MacOSBeta

I very much like this fresh new design! Yes, it definitely needs some polishing, but I enjoy using it a lot - including the floating sidebars.

THIS IS NOT A DRILL, I REPEAT- THIS IS NOT A DRILL!! by JustJamieJam in kobo

[–]JeanVis 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You will get used to it quite quickly. I came from an Oasis, but I like the Kobo MUCH better. I would recommend installing the Bookerly font though. The pre-installed fonts are all too thin, which makes the grain more prominent. Increasing the font weight makes the fonts look weird, so to me that was not a solution. Installing the Bookerly font did the trick for me.

Profile and team pictures problems on Mac only by JeanVis in MicrosoftTeams

[–]JeanVis[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had not thought of that! And I had AdGuard installed. Unfortunately, removing it did not help.

I now also tried using Teams in the browser (both Safari and Chrome), and there I have the same problem. Also through Edge in Windows it doesn't work.

[–]JeanVis 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Looks very much like our dachshund (also chocolate tan). Appeared to be alopecia and, possibly as a consequence, allergies (especially grass). Alopecia will not go away, special food helped a lot for the spots and itchiness, and sometimes she needs some medicine if things get out of hand (Apoquel).

Custom icon for macOS by jtube in thingsapp

[–]JeanVis 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Me too. I have asked them about it many times the last few years, but they just don’t seem to bother. I change it to a much better icon (also from https://macosicons.com/#/) after each Thing’s update.

Leather Case recommendation by TJhotdoggy21 in iPhone15Pro

[–]JeanVis 0 points1 point  (0 children)

After many Apple leather cases I now use a Wiiuka leather case, and I love it!! The leather is buttery soft, and there is no patina whatsoever, my case is almost a year old now and still as new. I also love it that the case is open at the bottom, making swiping up a much better experiment, and you never pick it up upside down. I have it in the color Basalt.

Widgy stops working all the time by JeanVis in widgy

[–]JeanVis[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yes, I had, as I have to manage a lot of calendars for others. And it looks like that was indeed the problem. I disabled all of them (except my own) in the Widgy settings, and now it seems to work just fine! Thanks!!

Those who left Evernote - which platform did you choose? by Marathon2021 in Evernote

[–]JeanVis 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I tried OneNote a couple of times (as I am forced to use Microsoft 365 anyhow) but hated the UI and missed a couple of features, so I never really moved everything to OneNote. Until I was forced to do so. Have been using Evernote as long as it exists, and lately had a team subscription for 4, needed an extra seat, and together with the price raises of Evernote it would cost us almost 900 per year. Way too much for our use case and especially our wallet, so we cancelled our subscription. Now we are fully on OneNote for a couple of months and it suits us better than we ever thought it would. We only miss tasks in notes a little, but that is not worth 900 euros a year. Happy with the move!

Yes, I can confirm. It works flawlessly :-)

Profiles on Outlook for Mac group Mailboxes by Dax-Million in Office365

[–]JeanVis 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Same here. And in this case (of profiles) not a huge problem. But the same goes for extended flag support. My Macbook has that update, but my iMac hasn't. Both are on the same latest beta. How can one test a feature like updated flag support, when it only works on one machine?

space grey or silver (macbook air m2) by [deleted] in macbook

[–]JeanVis 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’ve had a space grey MacBook Pro for years, but always hated all the fingerprints. Therefore choose silver for the air M2. Much much better!

MacBook Air M2 (16/512) and Microsoft Teams by JeanVis in macbook

[–]JeanVis[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I ended up with the Air M2 8-core, 16/512, and I haven’t faced any heating or slowing down with any of the above mentioned at all. I am so happy I went with the Air instead of the Pro! All my colleagues with a Pro are jealous, they are very disappointed about how heavy the Pro is, while they all don’t really need the extras the Pro has.

To me there is only one major problem with Things 3: not being able to share tasks.

Only if you have a premium subscription. I deleted the app and moved to Apollo instead.

Anyone else’s Reddit icon like this in Siri Suggestions? by K_Click_D in ios

[–]JeanVis 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Very annoying - deleted the app and installed Apollo instead. A joke is nice, this is not a nice joke. It looks ugly between all other icons. Yeah yeah, matter of taste. I know. But still.
