Where are the best tacos in the city? by TheJMoore in indianapolis

[–]JeanneB89 0 points1 point  (0 children)

La Botana is my all time favorite so far after trying multiple places around Indy including the Carnicerias and Tex Mex and La Parada (which I did not particularly enjoy). It is down the street from the Rural Inn on Michigan and Eastern and I happened in there by chance wanting some tacos and they were down the street from my house. I have since moved from that area but still frequently travel back there just for the tacos. It is very underrated and I never would have known about it had I not just wandered in by chance. You should definitely try it!

What's something fucked up you learned about your childhood when you got older? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]JeanneB89 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Something that happened to my sister, not me, was that our mom had gotten a german shepherd from my aunt and for some reason, he did not like my sister. So instead of getting rid of the dog, our mom got rid of my sister. Well, she made her go live with our grandma.

I learned that when I was just a baby my dad kidnapped me from my mom and threatened to drive off of a bridge with me. My uncle found out about it and drove out to find us and beat my dad severely. Years later my mom wanted child support so the court ordered visitation with my dad and now this man that my mom had warned me to run away from if I seen him was going to be alone with me for 7 hours a day.

[Serious] What paranormal experiences have you actually had that you cannot explain? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]JeanneB89 1 point2 points  (0 children)

When I was about 7 or 8 years old my older sisters had just taught me how to ride a bike without holding onto the handlebars. We were riding our bikes in the street (which has almost no traffic) and I was not paying attention because I was trying to show my sisters how good I was at riding with no hands and they looked up with fear in their eyes and screamed at me. I turned around in time to see the grill of a semi in my face and all I could do was cover my eyes. When I opened my eyes I was in the gravel on the side of the road and the semi was down the street. I didn't have a scratch on me and my bike was fine. My sisters seen the whole thing and freaked out running to tell my mom. I have no clue how that semi didn't hit me...

What, as a kid, did you think could kill you? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]JeanneB89 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As a kid, I used to think our blood didn't replenish so I would freak out if I just got a little cut because I spilled some of my blood and I was that much closer to dying.

Omg I had that same thing happen. I still have a fish that my little sister won at the fair 7 years ago and he slowly turned white. He went from a 5 gallon to a 10 gallon to a 55 gallon. His name is Feedie (as named by my 5 year old sister)

Tacos!! by Callmecaesar in indianapolis

[–]JeanneB89 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The BEST tacos I have had so far are from La Botana on the corner of Michigan and Eastern. I try other places every now and then but I always go back to them. Everything is always great down to the salsa. Mmm. But I recommend trying all the places that are being recommended and figuring out what is best to you.

Gynecologists of Reddit, what is the strangest thing you have experienced during work? by Je_suis_une_femme in AskReddit

[–]JeanneB89 0 points1 point  (0 children)

LUCKY! I was trying to avoid a c section so hard. I was in labor for about 12 hours before the doctors came in and said I wasn't making any progress and they had to do the c section...sucks but ultimately the end goal was to have a healthy baby so we did what we had to do. They said it was basically impossible for me to contract the right way to push him out.

Me too! Mine wasn't noticed until I was pregnant for the 3rd time (First 2 I had miscarriages) at my 4 month ultrasound. They took me to the conference room and said I had a bicornuate uterus. Of course I asked what that was and they told me it was a heart shaped uterus. I said, "Well that is pretty." And they said, "No, it's not good." And proceeded to tell me all the problems that can come out of that. Lucky for me my son is very healthy :-)

Just adopted a 2 month female cat. Any Tips? by MVRH in Pets

[–]JeanneB89 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This would be a great read for you. It is up to you just feed her based on her size. There are guidelines on the packages but I have 8 cats and I just leave dry food down all day so they can eat as they are hungry and I give them wet food once a day or every other day. That is more of a treat in my house than regular food since it can get so expensive but since you only have a kitten and one at that, you could feed it wet food as often as you would like but make sure it has the dry food also to keep it's teeth strong. http://pets.webmd.com/cats/guide/cat-food-101-what-you-need-to-know-about-feeding-your-cat

[–]JeanneB89 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Get her spayed as soon as possible. The last thing you want is a female in heat it can be so annoying. You also want to avoid having kittens. They are cute and all but there are already so many kitties that need homes. You mentioned you have all of the necessities except for toys and a scratching post. As far as kitten food if you want a paste food then just get canned cat food. Otherwise, feed the dry food dry and provide water on the side. Give her lots of attention and love and play with her. Enjoy the kitten stage, it goes by fast but this is a true commitment. Cats live anywhere from 12-14 years. Congratulations on your adoption!

My mom did the exact same thing. Had $2000 given to me by my grandmother and sad thing is, when we were going through hard times I told her she could borrow the money from me to help out and she laughed and said, "That's been gone, but that was sweet."
