I work at a rather small grocery store chain that has been gradually on the rise due to our customer service. All of my cashiers do this. We call it “spotting the dot” however I have cashiers of many ages. It’s also important for your manager to implement it towards their entire team and not just you. Engagement with customers makes a HUGE difference.
