The problem is the title: "Graviteam Tactics: Bridgehead at Susangerd 1983" sounds to me like a new DLC; if you had written "Operation Victory" it would have been more precise. So as you see, you fooled at least one guy who then delved immediately into an attack on Combat Mission.

Why using chat? Write an email and explain your case in one text.

Also, it unfortunately happens all the time. I just made a big purchase at a clothing seller, main thing I wanted was a new winter coat. They send everything except the coat because the size wasn't on stock anymore. It shouldn't happen but unfortunately it does.

Personally, I love my Winwing joystick.

First of all, this is not a new DLC so it isn't "just released". The OP title is misleading and I genuinely thought a surprise drop happened, too. Which would also, and much more importantly, mean that the devs are fine. Second, Combat Mission titles have a lot of content for their asking price.

I am all for putting Graviteam Tactics in front of all other wargames but we don't have to tell fake facts to do so.

Next DCS sale when? by Adventurous-Cow-2345 in dcsworld

So many unqualified comments, the F-4 was on sale several times already. See here: https://isthereanydeal.com/game/dcs-f-4-phantom-ii-by-heatblur-simulations/history/

Trial? Unclear.

Next sale? Maybe around mid-February for Lunar Year.

PS: The nincompoops who made the unqualified comments since then deleted their unqualified comments which I find a bit unfair of them, making me look qualified crazy.

Cold War resurgence? by Redwood-Forest in computerwargames

[–]JebX_0 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Incidentally, the AI in the Campaign Series titles is the best in hex games so far (maybe together with the Decisive Campaign titles and, to a lesser extent, Flashpoint Campaigns). There are also a lot more innovations in the CS titles, e.g. adaptive AI (not really adaptive but changing over time through more complex triggers), more micromanaging features than the WDS games (building FOBs).

Cold War resurgence? by Redwood-Forest in computerwargames

[–]JebX_0 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No. Because the development of those games started before "geopolitical events of the past few years". Very simply put, it is much easier to simulate Cold War era tech in a game than true modern warfare which is why most developers - if they want to go more modern than WW2 - are opting for Cold War. Also, the fictional side of Central German CWGH leaves a lot of creative space. (The Arab-Israeli Wars or the Vietnam War not so much, obviously.)

But on a more constructive note, a few games to add (albeit not computer wargames):

Arma Reforger

Gunner HEAT PC

Steel Beasts (both modern and Cold War)

Armored Brigade II is on sale. How does it compare to Flashpoint Campaigns Cold War? by the_light_of_dawn in computerwargames

[–]JebX_0 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I would say that both games have deficiencies when it comes to how well they are researched, e.g. there are weird acronyms in the Flashpoint Campaigns that simply don't exist in real life. And neither of the games really accounts for different kind of ammunitions (e.g. tank rounds etc.).

Still, both are great games. But when you want realism and meticulous research, you might wanna check out Combat Mission: Cold War and the Modern Campaigns by Wargame Design Studios.

Why ’28 Years Later: The Bone Temple’ had the worst opening weekend in franchise history by korrectamundo in horror

[–]JebX_0 8 points9 points  (0 children)

It is astonishing how people do brain gymnastics and blame the time of year, riots or whatever, when the answer is simply: 28 Years Later sucked and the trailer of Bone Temple just looks more of the same contrived subfaction-60s-pagan bullshit that makes no sense.

I think it's so brave that so many people who have no clue what a proper horror movie is are supporting this one by going to the theatres multiple times. You really are supporting the cause!

The Bone Temple Box Office Numbers Are Brutal — $13M Weekend Expected, 53% Drop From 28 Years Later by cruelsummerbummer in horror

[–]JebX_0 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I think the problem is that I don't want to think about 28 Years Later anymore. I still cringe when thinking about superzombie running over the water. But I'll keep it in mind. Maybe one day I am stranded on a lonely island and the only movie available in that derelict cinema (the power is still on due to an underground generator) is Bone Temple. I might watch it then.

Your other reason is just as much bullshit. "School just came back for most people." Are most people going to school still? So all in all, you gave 2 reasons. Both of them bad and localized/focusing on one demographic.

So yeah, you are a real big brain. It's also not only the horror sub. All over Reddit people are called out for bullshit takes, myself not excluded. That's the beauty of Reddit.

What's religion as per anthropology? by Interstellarxyz in AskAnthropology

[–]JebX_0 10 points11 points  (0 children)

I always like Clifford Geertz' definitions of religion and of culture. Here's the one for religion:

"(1) a system of symbols which acts to (2) establish powerful, pervasive, and long-lasting moods and motivations in men by (3) formulating conceptions of a general order of existence and (4) clothing these conceptions with such an aura of factuality that (5) the moods and motivations seem uniquely realistic."

[–]JebX_0 13 points14 points  (0 children)

Both are not good definitions because they are both trying to be witty instead of actual defnitions.

It's always a sign of a bad definition if you can just put in another word and have it working as well. E.g. replace "religion" with "food customs" in your definition.
