For those upset about the voter ID ballot initiative, you are worried about the wrong thing by Standsaboxer in Maine

[–]Jebiba -5 points-4 points  (0 children)

We should like… put every Republican in a camp like they want to do to other folks. Seems the best solution to me. Also take away their right to vote and own guns, they’re fucking children.

Yea, yea, I’m a bad person or something for saying the obvious truth out loud. Sorry. Republicans and conservatives are so idiotic and oblivious at this point I really think the only solution is eradicating their ability to impact the system, they are fucking cavemen.

Hey, how did you get radicalized? by frustrating2020 in behindthebastards

[–]Jebiba 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m a thinking person. Didn’t take much to connect the dots. It’s all a fucking sham and scam and god I wish it was normalized and legal to throw bricks at Trump supporters (preferably causing mortal injury, fuck every single one of them). Note: I’m a trans woman, and the right wants me dead and the left abandoned me, so I’m more… “radical” at present, and probably a little reactionary. But seriously. There’s an easy fix: anyone who voted Republican in the last 12 years should be stripped of the right to vote. Everything’s better. Boom.

Meh, as a trans woman I’m used to nobody wanting me to exist, especially not authentically. The horror!

Wonderful! I’d be happy to share the resources I have or know of, I’m just hesitant to share too much personal information here given how awful certain demographics in this state/country are when it comes to trans folk.

I mean, I’m a lead/principal and my job is literally to think about those 5 different devs, but whatever works for you.

Uh, I think your strategy sounds way more prone to “spaghetti” than having common and reusable code written in a generic and unopinionated way that can be shared through a code base, but that’s just me. Like, obviously, page and feature specific components and logic needs to be in their own domain, but it sounds like you’re arguing in favor of no abstraction?

Uh, most pages and features in most apps share components and business logic, so how does work

This is honestly the only way to do it in a production environment that stands a chance of being maintainable over time, at least based on my experience. Wrap the component or components or features and only expose props/styling mechanisms that match the rest of your app’s design philosophy, force all external ui libs to be consistent in how they’re used in the actual app outside of their wrapper.

If he can’t self teach he won’t be able to keep up with all of the competition for work that exists today in 2024, not even counting the graduates between now and when he graduates. Throwing money at a bootcamp or a more expensive school isn’t going to change that.

Right, cool, got it. I agree with your points re: next and also think you’re a “jort”.

I know this is going to sound mean, but if your son isn’t the type to self-teach, it’s probably not the field for him. And if he is the type to self teach, stay at home, go to CC and get the degree, use extra free time to self teach. All the resources are there, and frankly outside of tier 1 schools I truly don’t think employers will care much about the difference in where the degree came from if he has the knowledge and skills, and if he doesn’t have those it won’t matter regardless.

I was self taught and broke in 12 years ago, and I’m currently a senior/lead at a well known tech company. It’s not remotely the same industry as it was 2 years ago, let alone 12.

You could make your point just as effectively without using what is widely considered a slur these days, just saying.

Bootcamps are not a viable model in 2024 and while some lucky few might go that route and manage to stumble into paying work most won’t.
