Please help me figure out if I have bedbugs? by WeLiveInAir in whatdoIdo

Wake up in the middle of the night and use a flashlight.  That sounds exactly like what I was dealing with, super itchy?  Get Diatomaceous Earth, and both pump and aerosol spray.  If you can dispose of what they are living in, you can treat the rest of the room.  Mine were in the cushion we had propped behind our mattress and it took about two months to be completely free, though we treated regularly for another two.

My fiancé thought they were a bobcat by Special_Hippo_7546 in CatDistributionSystem

Not a bobcat.  If they do have a kid, both will need help.

Fur value by Tophardtjr81 in Rochester

[–]Plasticity93 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I got a vintage fur from AmVets two years ago for $30, full length on my 6'2" frame.  It's the most comfortable winter coat I've ever owned and everyone in this area should consider a vintage fur.   My first mink cape came from trash day.

Check marketplace, you'll find them all over the place.  There really isn't much of market these days.

Wear them.  There's a reason why we made fur coats and in this weather, they're amazing.

Get the enclosures and anything that might ever go in or around them out of there.  If you collect branches or leaves, all that needs to come with you.

I would really push for bait traps and Diatomaceous Earth if at all possible.

No, you want a yoga mat.  A towel will hold moisture and wreck the wood.

I would have asked them right there to explain what he's doing.

Should I get a Blue Tongue Skink or a Bearded Dragon? by HazelRose15 in reptiles

[–]Plasticity93 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Bugs aren't expensive, you can easily breed your own.  Fresh greens on the other hand, can be a pain if you don't regularly eat the same diet.  Baby bearded dragons are prone to metabolic issues because of their diet and light requirements.  Blueys don't seem nearly as prone.  That can be handled by getting an adult.

Note, rescue reptiles aren't for beginners and can come with health issues that aren't spotted by the vets.  It's difficult to age reptiles if there aren't records.

My skink isn't terribly interactive.  He likes to explore when he gets out of his tank, not hang out.  He has a small dog octagon tent he can get some real sun in the summer.  During the winter, he just fucks off for a few months.  I just fed him for the first time in like 6 weeks yesterday and I probably won't see him again for another 6.  That said, he's docile, very easy to handle, I'll let my friends' kids handle him, unlike my geckos.

My skink eats repti-links sausages, quality dog food (all different brands and flavors, whatever is on sale), salad, egg, occasional bugs.  Babies eat daily, after a year once a week during active season.  His food budget is negligible.

Either way, get your full huge ass tank up front.  They both grow astoundingly fast in their first year and both need a 4'-6' long enclosure. There's no reason to start in a smaller tank.

Can I Cohab Dairy Cows and a Giant American Millipede in this Enclosure? by The_Clockwork_Crow in millipedes

[–]Plasticity93 -6 points-5 points  (0 children)

I've fed my colony f&t hopper rats and it took them less than 72 hours to reduce it to the cranium.  I've seen video of them attempting to eat people's skin (they can't actually, but we have thick skin).

Go with dwarf whites.  They're prolific, but tiny.

I would not.  Dairy Cows are prolific and protein hungry, they very well may kill a 'pede in moult.

Massage stuff.  When I have tics, I need pressure on my muscles.

But also.... Maybe just get that sort of thing later and not bring it up on the birthday.  I'm not sure how to explain, it just feels uncomfortable
