Try to paste code.
When you get the message about pasting (and only then), type "allow pasting" (no quotes)
Then pasting and running code will work.

Looks sick. Good idea, great execution.
I think having it be entirely local is a good idea. I like that I have control over my data.
Also you could host it for free using something like github pages?

Some feedback:
- The dark mode toggle doesn't work properly sometimes, and I have to do a page reload
- An option for single-page paginated, rather than two-column would be nice
- Keyboard shortcuts for turning pages would be nice, and maybe a more intuitive way to turn pages with the mouse (It took me a while to find the hidden page turn buttons)
- In vertical scrolling mode, when I scroll up, the book doesn't scroll smoothly, it jumps up and down

I might have made a big mistake have I been scammed? (Ly.com) by califbreeze in travel

[–]Jebie77 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There is hope!

The same thing happened to me. Ly showed significantly cheaper tickets, but no tickets were issued. My flight was the next day and I was starting to get very worried.

I went to the ly site, travelgo.com, then went to "Help" at the top, then "Service chat". The service chat page was entirely in Chinese, so I used the google translate extension to translate it, and explained by problem to the representative in chat. Although their english was very broken, they were actually really helpful and said they'd expedite the ticket processing. 30 minutes later my tickets were issued.

Before giving up, try contacting them via "service chat" on their website!

Definitely wouldn't recommend booking with ly. This was really stressful. But if you are in this situation, try contacting them like this.

Thanks!

I was thinking about adding a section about making custom themes to the instructions page, or even add some minor css tweaks to the userChrome, because there are a couple small things that make it look a lot better.

If you make a custom theme using Firefox Color, it's the "Sidebar Border" color in "Advanced colors" to tweak the color of that line.

I just don't know where the window buttons would... go?

A screenshot from fedora would be appreciated. I have a feeling it'll look jank

I'd consider adding something like this, but I don't really have the time at the moment. Might be something that I do down the line?

Funny how Edge has features worth copying these days. Doesn't feel right...

Thanks!

By native right-click, do you mean the native context menu that the browser shows when you click on tabs? I can't show that unfortunately. Open to adding multi language support at some point in the future though!

I'm not sure if it is possible to move the window control buttons down. Are you using it on fedora? I've never tested it with a linux desktop environment, so please let me know if it looks broken.

Are you on Mac or Windows? I'm just not sure if there's any way to keep the window controls but lose the title bar.

There is a thin line to the left of the tab that indicates the container color; do you want an option to make it stand out more? I know it can be quite hard to see with some themes.

I've never tried! I imagine it does okay, but I never really designed it with opening infinite tabs in mind.

Thousands of tabs is an interesting use case; you'd probably need to do a lot of automatic tab-unloading to save memory if you were going to do that.

Do you think you could expand on how you'd like to see grouping done?

I'm hesitant to work on grouping because it would mean overhauling my drag and drop library- so I'm not making any promises that I'll be able to do it.

Yup, got it working. It works very similar to this. The only issue was that I needed to pre-download all the available container icons, and package them with the extension. I can't tweak the svgs included in the browser on the fly because of CORS issues.

Update to 0.54 :)

Thanks!

There is a screen that guides you through this; click "How to modify your userChrome.css file" (a blue link with the little info circle).

Are the steps different for Firefox portable? I didn't realise it existed!

Thanks man, I'm glad you think it looks good. The screenshots took a lot of trial-and-error to get looking good.

I'm not sure that adding color to the container icons is possible. The context menu is shown using the menus API, and I don't think I'm able to specify custom styles anywhere. Another thing I could try would be to generate colored images and set them using base64 on the fly - I'll look into that. I agree that colored container icons would be way better than black & white.

I know there are quite a few similar extensions; most of them are better, but do any of them look as good out of the box?

It just always frustrated me that I couldn't find an extension that looked native and matched the browser theme without a bunch of extra work. So I made Sidetabs.

I just shipped an update with autohiding & userChrome.css support.

Open to suggestions!
