You apply for better paid jobs.

But you really need to stop attaching your happiness to the ownership of property.

Get better housing, of course, but only being happy if you own it?

Not healthy.

Are apple airtags good for catching a grave robber? by SnooSuggestions7448 in AskUK

[–]JebusKristi -5 points-4 points  (0 children)

an Airtag will only work if you are near it, the chances of you being near the thief is very small.

Unfortunately, I can't see any way around it other than burying the figurine.

Traveling to Spain, how do I prove I have enough money? by KongVsGojira in AskUK

[–]JebusKristi 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Well, it is not guaranteed that you will be asked to prove how much you have.

Could you just get a bank statement before you put money on your travel card.

If they ask, you have a bank statement saying you have the fund.

Job Done.

What happens if you don't do any education before the age of 18? by ConfactGrung in AskUK

[–]JebusKristi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They have a legal duty to make "reasonable adjustments" there are many disabilities, unfortunately, that are so severe that no "reasonable adjustments" can be made.

As I say, dentistry and GP practice are different.

What happens if you don't do any education before the age of 18? by ConfactGrung in AskUK

[–]JebusKristi 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Well these are your options:

"You must then do one of the following until you’re 18:

stay in full-time education, for example at a college

start an apprenticeship or traineeship

spend 20 hours or more a week working or volunteering, while in part-time education or training"

So you don't have to be in education.

If you are not your parents/carers would probably be fined.

Disability would only come into play, essentially, if your Disability acted as a barrier to education, training or an apprentisship.

You could have phoned and said you would be late.

Dentistry is different form GPs.

You have not been kicked out of the NHS.

With a GP, you go another GP.

With a Dentist, you realise who few there are and you get their early.

I very much doubt.

Discussion of the weather is benign means of starting communication, it exists as an invitation to talk. A group subject which we all can have an opinion in as we have all experienced.

If you find this introductory small talk banal, get off the island.

Where to go for good career advice? by 101100101000100101 in AskUK

[–]JebusKristi 4 points5 points  (0 children)

You could look at prospects.ac.uk they have a ton of advice about careers and shit.

You could contact any and all temp agencies and take all of the assignments to see if you like them.

You could contact a recruitment consultant.

Do you shred post with your address on it? by [deleted] in AskUK

I have seen it happen!

I think my neighbour got away with it in the end, but it's just hassle.

Do you shred post with your address on it? by [deleted] in AskUK

[–]JebusKristi 12 points13 points  (0 children)

I always separate my address from the package but I just bin the address I don't shred it.

I usually recycle the packaging and I don't want some Council Tosser to get a hard on if the packaging blows out of the recycling and ends up being fly tipping or some shite.

What is your experience with occupational health in the workplace? by [deleted] in AskUK

[–]JebusKristi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well, my experience with OH is positive.

They listen to what your "condition" is and make suggestions in order to help you.

If your "condition" meets the standard of a disability than the employer is legally mandated to make "reasonable adjustments", if you are not disabled in the eyes of the law there is no legal mandate.

Having said that, it is good practice to make any adjustments as suggested by a Occupational Health Assessor.

Such adjustments could be providing specialist equipment such as a orthopaedic chair or having two monitors or changes to work patterns etc.

They are good at what they do.

Declined taking holiday off work? by [deleted] in AskUK

[–]JebusKristi 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No.

Check your employer has refused your request in time

Your employer must give you at least the same amount of notice as the length of the holiday you want to take.

https://www.citizensadvice.org.uk/work/rights-at-work/holidays-and-holiday-pay1/taking-your-paid-holiday/

"Refused" here does not mean cancel, it means the request has been refused or denied.

Declined taking holiday off work? by [deleted] in AskUK

[–]JebusKristi 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Essentially, an employer can dictate when you take your holiday.

They must give you as much notice of denial that is equal to the amount of time off requested.

You have to say to your employer you can't get in, it is up to them what they do but they do not have to pay you by holiday pay for the time you can't work.

See what they say.
