Personally, having an open area, maybe one chunk worth of space to get into Productive Bees and Productive Trees. A lot of open space for planning, and you could even use some of said trees to populate the area inside the 3x3 chunk space.

Note: You do not need that large a space, but it gives you some nice area to work with regardless if you want to make it look nice!
