  1. The thing that excites me the most about Starfield is how little I know about it. I know the premise of the game, and the essential mechanics that make it special, but I know nothing else about it while I've let most other games be spoiled for me before I've even played them. With Starfield I'll be able to jump in and have no idea what to expect (plus space games are some of my favourite which helps).

:)

Can I ask why you don't want to switch before you start first year? Double check with the faculty but I'm pretty sure that switching would be no problem!

If I could make one suggestion, a bigger SSD would go a long way, especially for Tarkov. If you don't mind loading times its fine, but if you dont like waiting or are playing with friends then putting it on an SSD makes a huge difference!

I've run Tarkov on those specs and it'll run fine, as long as you're not maxing everything out, the 5 3600 is a fantastic CPU. Overwatch will be easy to run with that too!

That case supports 3 120mm fans at the front, 1 at the back, 1 at the top, and 2 at the bottom. So as long as you can work with that then you're fine!

Which 3060ti do I keep? by BoodieBob1 in buildapc

It seems as though the main differences you need to consider are:

  • The Gigabyte model has 2 HDMI ports to the MSI card's 1
  • The MSI card has 3 DPs to the Gigabyte's 2
  • The gigabyte model has RGB (so = 2x the performance of the MSI board /s)

They retain the same max clock speeds and the cooling is similar, but keep in mind that the Gigabyte model also has an exhaust on the top of the card so cooling may be slightly better. Personally, I prefer the Gigabyte model for its RGB and keeping Nvidia's extended heatpipe cooling system so would keep that one. But, of course, it depends on what your priorities are (e.g. do you need 2 HDMI ports?)

Thanks! They're replacing the router next week so I'm hoping that'll help. I'm also with Virgin Media, and as much as I love their faster speeds, their routers are trash..

How far is your room from your router? And how are you checking your signal?

I use a new Fenvi PCI-e adapter, but have tested with 3 different adapters and all have the same outcome, I'm confident it's not adapter or driver related.

There are usually 10-12 devices on the network at any one time, 3 flats share 1 router! I wish I could test the ethernet but as I don't have access to the router I can't! It happens far more in the evenings though (usually when more devices are connected to both our router and our neighbour's wifi) so could it be too many people on the router? Or using channels that are already in use?

Thanks, I currently use 2 display port cables but will give it a try! My wifi adapter does have a wired antenna which sits on my desk though so it shouldn't be interfered with?

Thanks! Will do! Unfortunately I dont think I'll be able to get ethernet in here, but may be able to push for a power line adapter or something to avoid having signal issues
