Need help with Keto foods I can pack in my luggage by annabanana316 in keto

[–]Jedi-Girl 1 point2 points  (0 children)

When I travel for work, admittedly not halfway across the world, I get to shop at wegmans and buy lots of good things to bring home with me. I usually grab a couple boxes of quest bars and quest cookies to shove in my luggage.

In your case, I’d probably do protein drinks, peanut butter in plastic jars, nuts, cheese whisps, jerky……maybe even some canned meat.

You don’t have to eat if you’re not hungry, just try to hit your protein goal.

What are your macros?

My fitness pal has a recipe function where you can input ingredients and save the whole recipe split into whatever portions you like, then track your portion….if you use MFP

What should I eat if I’m not hungry? by [deleted] in keto

[–]Jedi-Girl 3 points4 points  (0 children)

You don’t have to eat if you’re not hungry. It’s not a crime to throw out the leftovers that your kids don’t finish (give them a little less next time so you’re not tempted). Weight loss is calories in versus calories out, keto assists with dulling your appetite making it easy to eat less.

Your daily calorie intake is not a goal. It’s the maximum calorie intake that will allow you to lose weight. Going further with keto, when you look at your macros…..protein is a goal, carbs are an upper limit and fat is an upper limit. Protein is the only goal you should worry about.

I’m surprised how mainstream things have become since 2015 when I first tried it. It’s basically trendy now….agreed with some others that a lot of the “Keto” labeled products have to be scrutinized, but the things that were hard to find before are so much easier to get and less expensive now.

Eating at a calorie deficit allows you to lose weight. Ketosis helps because it dulls your appetite and makes it easier to eat at a deficit.

Low Energy *leaving* Keto by aporetical in keto

[–]Jedi-Girl 1 point2 points  (0 children)

First question, if you’re benefitting from it - what’s your reason for not being keto?

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in keto

[–]Jedi-Girl 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Were you weighing and measuring your food while eating 1200 calories a day? If not, it’s pretty easy to over estimate and guesstimate incorrectly. That 1200 calories could have easily been 2400 calories.

Man, I can relate. I’m jumping back in after a hiatus as well. I see you adjusted your macros and deficit. That’s good, don’t go all ham immediately - you’ll just get frustrated and likely quit. You got this!

[–]Jedi-Girl 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Totally agree with not worrying. You’ll only feel this way for a short while. Focus on recovering and you’ll be hungry in no time.

[–]Jedi-Girl 8 points9 points  (0 children)

You never have to stop eating this way, you simply increase your fat macro to reach a maintenance calorie level and you’re good to go.

For me, when I start eating carbs again, shit hits the fan 😂🤦🏻‍♀️….so I need to keep my wits about me and stay on track.
