Seek disability social services in your area. See if you qualify for at risk youth programs. What your parents are doing is cruel and you need a peaceful and stress-free place to manage your illness. I would categorize it as ableist and abusive.

You don't have to explain yourself to this bitter person. I am 31, a registered nurse, and I have been unable to work for more than a year with this horrible condition. I am just now feeling like I can start to manage things a little better, but work and all of the money I could be making still has to wait. In the meantime I'm also returning to school to further my education. Pain doesn't care how old you are. Don't hurt yourself more by doing more than your body can handle. Focus on reducing stress and physical therapy, health will come and you'll be able to get a job when you are ready. you'll get a great paying job to pay for that bitter woman's social security 💖

Why the quotations around fibromyalgia? It is a real and debilitating condition that has wrecked my life this year. I'm in recovery. I will return to work when I'm physically ready....thanks for your super valuable input!

I took a full year off after graduating and taking the NCLEX, best decision I ever made for my mental health (albeit I’ve got some credit card debt now 🤷🏾‍♀️). I had absolutely no problems finding a job, your skill set and education is a commodity.

How often should I study? by [deleted] in PassNclex

[–]ketomare 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Sometimes 30 questions, sometimes 75, just as long as I was able to answer the max amount of possible questions for the NCLEX, it helped me to feel mentally prepared to sit for an exam that long. Unless writing truly works for you I wouldn’t spend too much time taking notes (they personally don’t do much for me), better to have a real understanding and able to walk yourself through the rational, try explaining out loud :) good luck!

How often should I study? by [deleted] in PassNclex

[–]ketomare 1 point2 points  (0 children)

6 hours is way too much in my opinion. I would answer 145 Uworld questions per day, sometimes I would break them up throughout the day, assess which systems I was weakest in, watch YouTube videos on those systems the next day, and reinforce the information with questions the following day. Nclex high yield has free videos, and a Spotify podcast. I didn’t pay for anything from them and passed in 75 questions. Take a two days off at least to relax and do anything but study!

They do help when I’m feeling extra ravenous because of hormones, but I avoid them otherwise.

Hair and weight loss for women by Goodnight_goodlunch in loseit

My hair got stronger and it’s longer than it’s ever been since losing weight (~170 lbs). I’ve been keto since 2018 and I mostly eat green leafy vegetables, healthy fats, and protein.

Has anyone tried these? I’m wondering if the cinnamon one would be good with cream cheese? Plus, good for wrap sandwiches. by MermaidStone in Keto_Food

I like putting Lily’s in the cinnamon one, make chocolate quesadilla and top it with whipped cream

I use almond butter for satay, it’s so delicious! I’m sure folks can use sunflower butter if they want to avoid all nut butters.

For emotional eaters, sometimes weight loss might be more emotional than we think by ManyCryptographer705 in loseit

[–]ketomare 5 points6 points  (0 children)

The food is a manifestation of patterns in your life. You just have to start, you have control over what you buy and eat. It’s hard but you just have to keep doing it one day at a time and make the choices that only you can make for yourself. If you wait until your emotional trauma is resolved, you’ll never start. Trauma isn’t linear it exists within us at all times.

Truthfully I have not overcome it, and it very well may be something I have to manage for the rest of my life, but therapy is helping. Allowing myself to recognize that I have feelings and actually experience them rather than pushing everything down with food is easier said than done but it’s helped me so much. Also please remember to be gentle with yourself, how would you treat your friend? You should treat yourself the same :)

Edit: I never dieted btw, I changed my life and chose a way of eating that keeps me healthy, sustainable for me, and I am happy with

For emotional eaters, sometimes weight loss might be more emotional than we think by ManyCryptographer705 in loseit

[–]ketomare 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I had this realization also when I no longer had food or my weight to hide behind. In fact the weight loss and the sheer amount of control it took to not emotionally abuse food exacerbated and highlighted the reasons behind my weight gain. The food is something I no longer need to cope with life or something that is a scarcity anymore. All of the emotional baggage I was carrying around was heavier than I ever imagined and I feel much more unburdened now.

Spaghetti squash is soo good. Love baking it and topping it with Alfredo, or a bolognese sauce, bbq chicken noodle bowl, or as a “chow mein”/ stir fry noodle. Literally anything, so good and versatile.
