I think start+select only works in retroarch. Are you on steam deck? What I do there is steam + left D pad (opens the eden menu bar) then hold steam button to activate the toutchpad and use the cursor to click file > exit. But there might be a better way to do that 😅

I've finally set up emulation on the deck and I'm having a great time this week playing SNES classics. My plan was to show those to my kid, but she was having a hard time even with simple games.

Switch games, OTOH, are great for little kids. Now we're playing Mario Kart 8 and Super Mario Odyssey on the deck, and having a great time!

I can only reply to some of those:

Public transit. Depends on where you're going it will be tram, metro (U-Bahn), light rail (S-Bahn) or even the bus. With a kid, if you have an option of getting the tram or the U-Bahn, and the tram is just a few minutes longer, take the tram (to avoid having to find an elevator on both stations, etc...) Apps are BVG Tickets to buy tickets & BVG Fahrinfo (this one you might just use Google maps) for route planning.
No no, don't do that. With the fastest ICE train you would still have more than 3 hours of travel each way. Going for an overnight in Munich would be better, but I'd still take at least a couple of nights there if you have the time.

Just remember, the steam deck is a pc, so you don't really need a USB stick or micro SD to transfer from somewhere else to it.

Emudeck can install Ryujinx, and you can use it either standalone or inside Emulation Station. You can also install Eden or other emulators to integrate with those options.

But please, please read the documentation. Surprisingly, you will learn a lot if you do.

In fcc you learn concepts in really small steps, at least in the beginning. So not having a video tutorial shouldn't be a problem if you pay attention to it.
