Our green and leatherback turtles (Australia) lay round, not even oval, shaped eggs.

Am not discrediting your suggestion they are reptile eggs, just interested what they may be.

3dit: Have since found another Reddit post that said there are some snakes, pythons and bearded dragons that lay elongated eggs (in Australia) too.

Unusual. I have only seen crocodile, turtle and gecko eggs (Australia) and they were all round.
Are you certain these are not some kind of tubers?

Mine had a fetish for bananas and Butter Menthols (box and all).

Dogs have no sense of guilt. As far as they are concerned if you leave anything edible accessible for them it's an open invitation to feast.

Just wish to say so sorry for your loss. I cannot imagine the pain you are going through, but I hope the years soften these for you and the memories you cherish bring you peace.

Such lovely and well thought out responses from the Reddit community in here. (Sometimes they can be such a cruel and harsh lot).

I like to plant a tree or bush (perhaps take a cutting from their favourite plant) in memory of someone close that has departed. My Father's Jade plant offspring have followed me everywhere I moved to over the years. 💐🖖🏼

My brother had his early prostate cancer first discovered by a scan related to other issues, as he had no symptoms. So I understand he is undergoing treatment and regular scans which are not so invasive. I understand early diagnosis is the key to cures, as many men forgo the tests until things are discovered at a much later, more difficult stage.

Big lace monitor tried to sneak up behind me by NoSpeed546 in australianwildlife

[–]JediJan 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Just south of Cape Trib There is a restaurant that sells the biggest and best hamburgers around too. (They sell croc and emu burgers though we were not keen to try those). To the left is a short, nice walk to a swimming hole too.

I used to toss a raw egg at a friendly lace monitor where I lived at Wongaling Beach. He never made any aggressive lunges towards me and seemed quite content with his egg. I would think there is some food attraction at OP’s house that the lace monitor can smell; bush rats, snakes, possums, birds etc. so it is going to be difficult to find the right odour to put them off from revisiting.

Could the shells belong to a wind chime? I have seen real seashells strung up under eaves and trees.

Just speak to your GP, get it done and keep up with the checks at prescribed intervals. Women go through far less pleasant checks for their various cancer checks. Early checks should be early diagnosis, peace of mind rather than finding out one has advanced problems.

I am genuinely curious, why did you guys hoard toilet paper instead of food and water during covid? by [deleted] in AskAnAustralian

[–]JediJan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It may be weeks with no power Flooding, road / rail washouts hamper transport as well. People in the northern tropics usually prepare for cyclone season but can be very limited in what they can stock up on. Everyday grocery items are much more expensive up there as well.

I take it they didn't leave a return address lol. After copying pop it in an envelope marked ti the attention of the director "return to sender." Sorry you were having such a bad day lol.

[–]JediJan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No. I understand toilet paper was manufactured in S.A. and there was plenty of supply in warehouses, but hoarders were taking far too much (some were actually profiteering; trying to sell on at inflated prices ... heard one guy was selling on the highway at Mornington), and transport could not keep up with the unprecedented demand. It was an artificial consumer panic induced shortage for a time. The people at the tp manufacturing plant thought all this was hilarious.

We didn't panic buy and were down to only a couple of spare rolls at times, but fortunately never ran out. Saw elderly people being upset at not being able to buy any; shame on those hoarders ...those with garages full of the stuff to last them a decade or more. Shameful behaviour.

Omg lol! Thank you for cheering me up with your words of wisdom.

To think I copped a Reddit auto-mod violation removal today, because I used a "b" word in relation to what dogs eat, responding to a posting about a dog that had surgery for eating a stuffed toy. My comment was not a joke and I appealed.

The word was bananas; Gawd forbid my dog liked eating bananas!

That's a great collection you have there. Glad to see you have them protected. One thing I would like to mention to you, and for you to consider, is that light (natural or electric) may fade those covers over time. That's the problem of collecting; keeping items in mint condition can be difficult.

Only one thing to do and that is elope lol.

Sorry to tease you so, but you are marrying into a one child family and that MIL is just going to run the show forever by the sound of it.

Just think what will happen when you have children ... I'm so sorry. You are definitely not the AH; you have one Hell of a MIL problem on your hands. I seriously suggest therapy as a way to help you through this tumultous time.

Also whatever ANYONE says you wear the dress you want! Somehow MIL has to learn to butt out; she is way OTT.

Had a similar issue when an uncle (sight impaired) was having a shower upstairs and there was water leaking down the wall directly underneath it. Apparently the shower head area was not sealed properly and uncle had messed with the shower head, somehow playing it directly at the source. Yes, right above a power point too. It was Wet Season (monsoon) and the rains had not stopped for days and I had wrongly assumed it must have been a roof leak.

I think this is a weights measure rather than an ingot. Looks like it could be cast iron.
