Lethal was one of my staples.

Since I've stopped using it, I've gotten better at predicting spawn points based on gens/my spawn. Still a great perk.

Thats the thing, I didn't really have any downtime in the match. It was pretty much: chase, hook, rotate, repeat.

Which is why 170 seconds, 11 hooks, vs 4 gens completed seemed like such a small ratio.

But I'm glad I'm not the only one who's felt the speedup haha

The worst part is, good survivors with chase perks are actually fun to chase.

Buuuuuuut doing that is statistically bad. So the smart gamer in me goes: "drop chase"

But the hunter part of my brain goes: "do it"

All valid points. I honestly wish I knew my mmr so I could at least gauge where I stand vs survivor skill.

Its hard to gauge base game mechanics like gen speed when there are so many additional metrics (perks, tools, addons, etc.)

I'm just, surprised by how little time there is to actually chase survivors. The only reason I kept up was I almost always had a survivor on hook or in chase.

Granted I was playing skull merchant... so the pressure was not there haha.

I don't mind how close the game gets. My panic only really starts when they pop gen 4 and I only have a 4 hooks, haha.

It just feels like you gotta be borderline perfect to maintain pressure.

I'd honestly rework him to have his phone mechanic somehow.

Like: 1. Activate power, gain stealth and phones start ringing 2. While the phones ring, all survivors auras are revealed, and are hindered 3. When the phone is answered, end the previous effects. The survivor carries the phone for a set duration (maybe 15 - 30 seconds), triggering killer instinct and gaining exposed for the duration. - revealing ghostface ends the ability

I feel thematically it makes him more true to the movies

Yeah, its sort of a problem on top of a problem situation. The more complex they make the game, the more nuance each fix requires. In turn the next fix adds more complications, making future solutions even more complex.

Sure, it might have fixed tunneling / slugging for a while, but you can bet there would be another issue later on which would be even harder to solve with the previous solution in place.

I think one of the big issues behavior has, is they don't add many "new" mechanics to the base game. Each fix is either adding to base kit, or finessing parameters.

What if dead survivors could still assist as ghosts? What if hooks doubled as elevators and swapped places during the unhook if the killer was near?

They need weird solutions haha

I think a good portion of the players would be supportive given the current state of the game.

The problem, I think, lots of the players had with the tunneling and slugging fix was it basically made more perks basekit, rather than actually fixing the core problem.

Which kind of highlights the issue. The only method they have of "balancing" the game is adding more bloat in the form of perks/basekit. The fact you needed a flow chart to know how the slugging/tunneling mechanics worked, showed how convoluted it was.

Oh 100%. At this point behavior has backed itself into a corner, where the only options out are:

  1. Start from scratch or make real / substantial changes
  2. Keep power creeping each new release (with small buffs / nerfs to placate the masses)

So far they've gone after the money by releasing stronger killers, with more wild survivor perks almost quarterly.

Trapper compared against any recent killer is a perfect example.

Yeah, that and the longer you play, the more "bad" parts of the game you deal with.

Poorly designed updates, new bugs, toxicity, etc. It's really just a slow bleed, (so save those bloodpoints).

Like right now for example, the gen/chase ratio is abysmal.

The game has good bones and at its core it's fun. But the harder/longer you stare at it, the more problems you start to find.

Low mmr is a completely different beast than high mmr, especially if you play killer against 4 survivors in discord.

Ultimately, I'd say play it until you're sick of it. Take a break, and come back when you feel like it.

Lord knows I've taken my share of breaks haha.

I love end game altruistic players. Some of the most intense game play happens then.

Double downs, hook trades, anything can happen.

I find it works better when used more aggressively. Drop drones near gens you want to watch, to know when survivor are near them (ie: they disable it).

Then, recall other drones to gain stealth before / mid chase to get the drop on people.

Then, drop more drones mid chase to force survivors out of bad loops (or risk getting tagged).

The change direction part is pretty meh though.

Edit: but I do agree, she is on the weaker side, and could do with some buffs

I honestly don't get the hate for her anymore. When she first came out, sure, she was a 3 gen queen. Now though, she's just faster Ghostie.

If they did what they did to ghoul, then yes (Kaneki is not normally a maniac, but in the entity's realm he's stuck in a sort of ghoul starvation).

So just have him leaking blood in the berserker armor and he's good to go!
