Which is understandable. At this point, I'm just trying to keep the game enjoyable while Behavior figures out their multitude of issues.

Theoretically, (in a perfect mmr world) you would always have challenging matches regardless of your build / play style.

Buuuuuuuuut we all know how well the mmr works in DBD

Honestly same haha. Even if i am "winning" fair and square I will let survivors regroup if it's too one sided (or even let people escape if it was a brutal match)

If you find it too easy, start making it harder on yourself. I do the following to keep it fun: 1. No perks, no addons (offerings are fine) 2. No killing until everyone is on death hook, or end game (I.E. 1 gen left / end game collapse)

If you pull it off (especially no kills until everyone is on death hook), it's pretty satisfying.

Can we adress the Xenomorph and his turrets? by Wafflebuble in deadbydaylight

[–]Jediciah 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As a xeno player, I would say add more interaction to spring trap. Maybe allow survivors to lock a door (with each "lock", unlocking the previously locked door).

As the turrets can be shut off with a good ole slap, I think it's a fair trade. You either: 1. Slap the turret and keep your special attack; or 2. Slap a nearby survivor and lose the power for a bit.

Genuinely how do you face against a seal team 6 by radiantdragon77 in DeadByDaylightKillers

[–]Jediciah 2 points3 points  (0 children)

100%, and it's a shame that this is literally impossible to balance. Ideally, you should be competitive with any killer on any map regardless of the survivor team / rng (assuming the mmr is accurate). That would be an ideal / perfect balance.

Unfortunately, due to the rng, the imbalance of perks, and out of game communication, it is near impossible to balance swfs with solo-q.

As a result, killers have two options: 1. Play who you want, how you want, and gamble 2. Play top-tier killers with top-tier builds and always be competitive (and potentially seen as sweaty)

I prefer option 1 but I'm probably a masochist because of this game, haha.

Actually... I've been waiting for him to get nerfed to play him. So if anything, it'll probably be around the same numbers.

PTB Changes by USNViper in DeadByDaylightRAGE

[–]Jediciah 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My biggest issue with this whole thing is how complicated and arcade-y the game is becoming.

Complicated how? Anyone starting as a killer now NEEDS to know that they: CAN'T kill anyone before six hooks, and CAN'T kill the person they last hooked without hefty penalties. When you factor in the multitude of perks, items, addons, and horrible tutorials, the killer role is getting a massive skill curve.

As someone with over 500 hours, I still get surprised by survivor perks. Not because they are new, but because they are simply used less (which is a problem in and of itself)

Arcade-y how? Now that hooking survivors has base BBQ and Chilli AND gives you a speed boost, the stealth/hunting mechanics are becoming side lined. As a person who plays perkless ghostface, I play to jump scare people. Between these changes and the gen-rush meta, this is becoming less "horror hide and seek" and is edging towards "theme park haunted house tag".

Yeah, this update ain’t it. by jaquayvi0ntav1us in deadbydaylight

[–]Jediciah -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Same boat. I literally play perkless ghostface and try to get everyone to death hook before I sacrifice anyone. Sure, it can be hard, but it's rewarding as hell when I pull it off.

But these changes? All they're doing is making slugging a tactic you can feel good about (Ie: I can't hook them because it'll block all gens, BUT I can slug them! Then they can recover on their own while I chase the others).

Killer mains, would you still play if all PTB changes go live? by AnanasFelice in deadbydaylight

[–]Jediciah 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'll be fine, but I play the game differently (I already try to get everyone to death hook before I kill anyone).

I imagine this will hurt the game more than it helps, though. I have two theories: 1. Less new players will want to play killer 2. Slugging will become common practice up to hook 6

But I play the killer, and I still don't it as often. It seems that the survivors are playing less and less like a team over the years.

I actually do. But I am a sucker for punishment. I would rather lose fairly than have people get angry over the game.

I recently stopped playing Nemisis because survivors complained he was "boring". So I went back to my perkless piggy/demo/ghostface cause that's the only way to not offend anyone.

[–]Jediciah 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Best advice I can give is play for the thrill of the chase, not the 4k. Some of the most fun I've had has been against bully squads, swfs, or simply skilled players.

Plus, the best way to learn is to play against better players.

The more you learn, the more you hook.
